How do you respond when asked to play a role less than you desire? I remember the #DetroitTigers of the 1970s, and Gates Brown. He wanted to be a starting outfielder. And he did start occasionally. But he made the record books as a pinch hitter. See the records he still holds below. I think of Manu Ginoblli with the San Antonio Spurs. The 6th man. Led the second team. Now in the HoF. I could go on. Our job is to do the best in the role we are given. Not complain, not do less than our best. I believe when we do that things will work out. Some very Happy West Coast Eagles Fans walking home after the game last night. Not an expected win...but one most wont forget. The Eagles have been beaten up for probably 3years. All seemed lost for a long time. It looked like there were more dark times ahead. But then, by taking action, maybe even a different action, little glimpses of change started to appear...then a few good moments appear. Then a better day. Then a good day Before you know it is a great day. And there will be some tough moments ahead... Some tough days... But the more you prepare, the more you work. Believe and trust yourself. Then, those tough moments, those tough days will be less. And you will be able to deal with them better - because you are prepared. As you may be aware - this isn't just football. This is Life. Ride the tough Days. Change what you do and how you do it. Prepare. Believe & Trust. Work. And the change will follow. I'm guessing that is what has happened over the past 6months at the Eagles - and they are now starting to see the benefits and reaping some of the rewards. I'm a big fan of a morning routine to get myself aligned for winning the day. My guess is that the world's #1 ranked golfer in the world has a pretty set routine as well to get himself ready for elite performance. On his way to Valhalla for Round Two of the PGA Championship, Scottie Sheffler was arrested for driving around an accident scene when he was told to stop by Louisville Metro police. I am not going to pretend to be an eyewitness, nor do I remotely know all the facts of the situation. This is not a political commentary. What I do know is that the world's top golfer spent his morning in jail, and then arrived back at the golf course 53 minutes before his scheduled tee time. I might call this a departure from his typical morning routine. 😁 I personally HATE when my morning routine - or any routine - gets impacted in my day. But I also know that a major key to success in life is adaptability. The consistent ability to adapt, shift, and refocus among ever changing conditions is a key to success in life. I am fascinated to see how Scottie Sheffler responds today in Round Two. This is leadership... Currently in AFL - Australian Football League world, there is commentary regarding Geelong Cats star Tyson Stengle's contract. Stengle was given an opportunity by Geelong at the end of 2021 to reignite his career. Tyson had somewhat of a troubled past, being 'delisted' by two other clubs for behavioural issues. So in a sense, you could say that Geelong gave Stengle an AFL football career lifeline. Since then, Stengle's form has been incredible, being awarded an 'All Australian' and winning a premiership. His services are now back in demand with a number of other AFL clubs. The commentary from some sources, both public and in the media, has been that Stengle 'owes the club' for the career lifeline it handed him, and should therefore not consider leaving the Cats. He should show loyalty. Here is what Geelong's coach Chris Scott had to say... "The part that I will stress is, Tyson's done the work. We gave him the opportunity but that was the opportunity to walk in the door," Scott said. "I would like to think that we have helped him, but we're not the sort of club that says, 'Hey mate, you owe us because we gave you the opportunity'. "We want the best for Tyson, not just while he's playing footy, but also post-footy as well. Part of that is him making sure he sets himself up financially outside of footy. "I can't see a time where we'll leverage what we've done for a player, we're not that sort of club, not those sort of people." This is the kind of leadership that builds trust and attracts talent. It's a cultural mindset, not a knee-jerk response to an individual case. The focus is purely on what is best for Tyson, from a career perspective and for life outside of work. A Year of Growth, Resilience, and Gratitude What a transformative year! As I reflect on my journey, I'm filled with gratitude for the experiences and lessons I've gained during the past year. From navigating a new country to challenging myself academically, I've developed resilience, embraced uncertainty, moved on after failures, learnt to adapt and growth. It's been a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. I'm especially grateful for the unwavering support of the Canadian Marketing Association, which provided me with a fully funded scholarship and the opportunity to earn the Chartered Marketer designation. The mentorship and guidance I received from industry experts have been invaluable. Volunteering for different organizations has also enriched my experience, allowing me to connect with diverse individuals, develop new skills, and make meaningful contributions to the community. I couldn't have achieved this without the sacrifices of my husband, family, and support circle. Thank you to everyone who has crossed my path. As I look ahead, I'm excited to embrace new challenges and pursue growth opportunities in my career development. As a life long diehard Boston Celtics fan last night was a night I will never forget. I got to share it with my girls and see them witness their first Celtics championship. The lessons you can learn from this Celtics team are ones that apply to life and business. They focused on controlling what they can control. Blocked out all the outside noise. They had a goal and they battled all year to achieve it. They were doubted all year based on previous performances in the finals and eastern conference finals. Coach Mazzulla was second guessed all season. Many saying he wasn’t the right coach for this team. Tatum and Brown disrespected all season. Many questioning if they had what it takes to win a Championship together. Even after going 12-2 heading into the Finals most analyst picked Dallas to beat Boston. At the end of the day they trusted the coach. They trusted each other. They didn’t panic during adversity. They stuck together as a team/family and kept their focus on their ultimate goal of winning a championship. Many of us deal with adversity daily. Maybe feel doubted. Maybe frustrated with where you are at in your career. Questioning if you are going down the right path. Lessons you can take from this team can help you in life and your career. Trust yourself. Control what you can control. Work hard daily to achieve your goals no matter what obstacles are in your way. Block out the outside noise and just focus on controlling what you can to get one step closer to your goals. Stay the course. Or pivot if that is what needs to happen. But never lose confidence in your ability to be great! Congratulations to the Boston Celtics on winning their NBA leading 18th Championship.

Well, guess what? The universe made it happen! I had the incredible opportunity to watch Lewis win his 9th Grand Prix at Silverstone, and let me tell you, it was a moment I'll never forget. Seeing him up close, shaking his hand, and feeling the energy of the crowd was absolutely electric. But what made this moment even more special was knowing the journey Lewis has been on. I remember watching in disbelief as he had the championship taken from him in 2021. It was a gut-wrenching moment for any fan. But that's the thing about true champions like Lewis - they don't let setbacks define them. They use them as fuel to come back stronger than ever. And that's exactly what he did at Silverstone. Watching him cross that finish line in first place, knowing all the hard work and determination it took to get there? It was a masterclass in resilience and never giving up on your dreams. It got me thinking about the parallels between Lewis's journey and the path of a successful recruitment agency owner. In this industry, we all face setbacks and challenges. There are times when it feels like the odds are stacked against us, and it's easy to want to throw in the towel. But just like Lewis, the key is to keep pushing forward. I left Silverstone feeling inspired, energised, and grateful for the opportunity to witness history in the making.
