Congratulations General Manager Christy Dowdy and her team at the South Mt. Auburn Rhodes location in Cape! Their store was recertified as a Rhodes Culture & Training Center! CTC is a program that requires stores to pass a rigorous inspection process. The few stores that pass are considered "flagship" locations where management trainees learn how to lead their own Rhodes locations. CTC stores illustrate Rhodes' highest level of training and culture and will set expectations and opportunities for success for incoming team members. Our CTC stores uphold our culture and core values to the highest degree, and we're proud to recognize their accomplishments. Join the Rhodes family and experience exceptional training and mentoring. Is your retail organization focused on everboarding? This is a topic of increasing importance, as today’s retail talent pool is searching for jobs that will invest in their development and growth. During MOHR Retail’s recent webinar, I dove into this topic with our panelists. Take a look at some of the takeaways below: ▶ Lisa Anderson (She/Her/Hers), Division Vice President of Optometry at EyeCare Partners, shared that when it comes to individual career-pathing and growth plans, they use a variety of training formats, including microburst training to hands-on experience and focus time with a mentor. This approach has proven valuable from a retention standpoint and in helping drive more internal promotions. ▶ Mike Van Lente, Executive Leader of Learning & Development at Whole Foods Market, noted that they offer a development program to prepare high-potential team members for each leadership role in a store, from associate team leader (assistant manager) all the way to store team leader (general manager). ▶ Career-pathing isn’t just about moving into leadership, though, as Van Lente pointed out. Whole Foods also offers apprenticeship programs that are designed to build specialized skills and knowledge, creating a pipeline of artisan talent to fill different roles across the specialty grocer’s departments. In all, retail organizations need to focus on varying pathways for team members to create advancement and increased income opportunities. By investing in an everboarding approach, retail organizations will improve their opportunities to recruit and retain the top talent. How has your retail organization invested in everboarding? #LearnMOHR #RetailTraining #Everboarding

Today student leaders of the Hospitality Management Program welcomed Stephanie Fischer President & CEO, and Katherine A. of the Georgia Restaurant Association to campus. Collaborating with industry partners like the Georgia Restaurant Association offers students in the Hospitality Management Program an array of invaluable opportunities. These collaborations help bridge the gap between academia and the real-world demands of the hospitality and restaurant industry. Here are some key benefits that students can gain from such partnerships: · Real-World Experience: Engaging with industry leaders allows students to gain practical insights into the operations, challenges, and dynamics of the hospitality sector. This experience is crucial for understanding the practical aspects of what they learn in the classroom. · Career Guidance and Advice: Gaining first-hand advice from successful individuals in the industry can guide students in making informed career choices. It can help them understand various career paths and what they entail. · Understanding of Industry Standards and Expectations: Interacting directly with industry leaders helps students understand the professional standards and expectations of the hospitality sector, enabling them to better prepare for their future careers. Such partnerships are a testament to the commitment of educational institutions to provide students with a holistic and relevant education that not only includes academic knowledge but also practical skills and real-world exposure necessary for success in the hospitality industry. Have you ever had a mentor? The value of a good manager or mentor in your career cannot be underestimated. Yesterday, Marc Psaila Soler , with the management of Lidl Malta Ltd. , presented a talk to Mcast students on the important milestone of opening our logistics centre in Malta in 2022. It wasn't just an opportunity to showcase the great job done from all departments and interconnections between them but also helped me reflect on how much I was involved in it and how much trust was granted from my manager. From my meetings with Marc, I have learned some great tips: ⭐ Always ask for someone's own solution before giving your point of view when they come to you with a possible issue. ⭐ Share as much information as you can, offering the big picture to everyone involved. ⭐ Challenge your colleagues with always new experiences giving them the space to try, fail and succeed after. ⭐ Always take time to do a recap of what worked and what didn't for you and who'll handle your project in the future. Great managers will be able to make you shine thanks to hidden (or not so hidden) suggestions and feedback. ⭐ #mentor #mcast #careeradvice
