Over the next few weeks AirGeoX will release results of a #drone #spectrometer test flown over a trial area with very low counts, to test the sensitivity and signal to noise limitations of the system. The primary benefit of drone #radiometrics is a lower flight height, which produces a significantly smaller footprint and therefore higher resolution data. The footprint is reduced from approximately 100m for a plane flying at 50m altitude, down to 30-40m for a drone flying at 20m altitude. Flying a plane at a tighter line spacing such as 25 or 50m won’t increase the resolution as the footprint is much wider than the line spacing, the only way to achieve high resolution is with a drone flying at a low height with a tight line spacing. The number of counts increases with decreasing height, however this is offset by reduced crystal volume on the drone. Aerial Drone Air Quality Monitoring & Altitude measuring - - The world’s smallest drone environmental sensor CurieJet P750 is the world’s smallest air quality & barometric altitude sensor, only 29 x 29 x 4.9 mm and 1/16 volume in the industry with I2C interface, which is a key component of drones, UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), UAS(Unmanned Aircraft System), RPAS(Remotely Piloted.
