Walmart exec: AI matters but happy customers matter most Bringing disparate team members together to solve customer issues and integrating AI are both important parts of the job for Jon Alferness, executive vice president and chief product officer of Walmart US. Improving search capabilities is essential to creating more trust among customers and motivating them to return, says Alferness, but people are less concerned with the AI behind the process than they are with simply getting their issue resolved. #walmart #AI #customerexperience #process #technology #trust #motivation

Founder- CEO @ Inception Retail Group | Sr. Executive/Board Advisor | Keynote Speaker | Defining The AI In Retail | Author
“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” — George Bernard Shaw This article fails to analyze the impact of Personal AI Assistants on traditional shopping as we understand it today. We think of stores and e-commerce as the reason consumers shop. This is the biggest mistake that retailers will continue to make. Omni-channel Integration and Hyper-Personalization are key areas where many initiatives continue to fall short. Amazon and others are moving forward quickly they see the business opportunity and consumer adoption that will take place. The article is correct in highlighting consumers looking for greater convenience, speed of service and experiences. However this too is going to be redefined. The current arguements remain to be about stores this is shortsightedness, your focus should be on consumer behaviors and their interactions with AI. This isn’t about business adoption of AI to save money and be more efficient, this is about preparing for consumer adoption. If you don’t see that I can’t help you! 🔮🚀 Major industry leaders Walmart and Amazon are intently refining the digital shopping experience through AI. We're on the verge of a retail revolution and autonomous shopping is no longer a far-off vision, but a near-future reality. - Customer personalisation and autonomous systems are at the forefront of Amazon's venture into the incredibly versatile field of artificial intelligence. - Meanwhile, Walmart's concentration is linked to augmented reality and AI-driven store management. This signifies a rapid transformation shaping the global retail landscape. As technology intertwines more deeply with shopping, retailers have to innovate continually to cater to fiercely dynamic consumer expectations. Much like an assertive chess move, successful adoption and implementation of these advancements offer the ability to seize enormous opportunities. 💡 My humble prediction is this rapid evolution going to be pivotal in driving customer loyalty and augmenting conversion rates. Retailers leveraging AI and AR will generate a surge of customer-centric experiences, significantly enhancing operational efficiencies. ✨ Takeaways from this transformative epoch include: 1. The customer experience will gain a personalized touch, adding substantial value through precise, targeted offerings. 2. Operational efficiency across the retail spectrum will experience a major upswing, due to the exploitation of AI in predicting inventory, managing stores, and employing AR for in-store experiences. 3. An increase in loyalty resulting from the superior customer experience served through AI innovation. 💼 This shift demands that companies employ personnel skilled in harnessing these emerging technologies. I see a surge in job demand related to AI and tech-powered commerce capabilities in the retail industry. #AIDrivenTransformation #DigitalRetailRevolution #RetailTech #AI #AR #Amazon #Walmart

#Walmart is no stranger to adopting new #technologies and embracing #transformation. You don’t get to be the world’s largest retailer by stubbornly sticking to the “this is how we’ve always done it” mindset. As such, there’s a lot that other organizations – retailers and otherwise – can learn from #Walmart. Particularly when it comes to #generativeAI. Walmart has been busy integrating generative #AI right across the business, using the transformative technology to drive performance and deliver a better service to customers.
