Vigilance is the key to identifying and stopping nursing home abuse. Victims may not be able to talk about the abuse or neglect they experience in a residential facility. As a result, it often falls to friends and family to recognize the signs and take action. Unexplained bruises or sores on your loved one are obvious signs but these are not the only ones. Changes in your loved one’s demeanor or attitude, being unavailable to visit with you during regular hours, or disheveled and unkempt appearances should all be investigated. The Law Offices of Phillip A. Tatlow, LLC, can help you take steps to protect your loved one from being abused in a nursing home. Having had many attendances at southern health trust and also SEHSCT I can say that the time is well past a zero tolerance approach and the judiciary taking account of the toll an assault takes on both nurses paramedics and doctors I’ve witnessed handcuffed individuals try to punch a doctor, nurses being hit and strongly verbally abused by drunks drug takers and volatile individuals not to mention the deluge of mental health patients to be found in the now treatment corridors and wards in our hospitals This national scandal is a disgrace When will the politicians actually move to serve the people ? When will the employers and trust management move to demand the statutory right to safe systems of work for our front line health services staff ? When will management move to actively support that process ? And Who in the government which MP , Party or MLA will move to table a question in the house of Westminster ( our only means of being heard now) to bring this matter to sharp focus at cabinet level ? We don’t want much Provide them with the safe environment to work Motivate pay our NHS what’s due Remove the danger to another secure location This is nothing but an appeal for those poorly represented Make it happen !
“We don’t come to work to be abused” Emergency Department Sister, Amy Mackin, is one of over 50,000 Health and Social Care staff who have suffered physical abuse at work over the past 5 years. Please be kind, we are trying to help

Assisted dying should be lawful because it respects individuals' autonomy and dignity, allowing them to have control over their own end-of-life decisions. For terminally ill patients experiencing unbearable suffering, the option of assisted dying provides a compassionate choice to end their lives peacefully and with dignity, sparing them prolonged agony. Legalizing assisted dying also ensures proper safeguards and regulations, preventing misuse and ensuring that the decision is made voluntarily, with full awareness and consent. It acknowledges the reality that some medical conditions are beyond cure and offers a humane solution for those who wish to avoid unnecessary suffering. #dyingmatters #deathwithdignity #assisteddying #righttodie #endoflife
