The 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗖𝗖𝗔𝗥 signed in Bonn, Germany, a second contract amendment of an existing contract for binocular night vision goggles and in-Service Support on behalf of Belgium and Germany with a Consortium consisting of HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH and THEON SENSORS S.A. The newly signed second amendment includes 𝟯,𝟱𝟬𝟬 night vision goggles for Belgium, as well as 𝟭𝟲,𝟬𝟰𝟭 night vision goggles and 𝟴,𝟰𝟮𝟯 Head Mounting Systems for Germany, the latter two are pending approval from German parliament, which the consortium expects to be received at the end of Q1 2024. Moreover, the contract includes an option for up to 𝟮𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 additional night vision goggles each for Belgium and Germany. Really good trial results using #iFLOW during cross-border weather trials in the NM ops room. Tackling bad weather 🌩️ is increasingly important on busy network days as our recent Aviation Trends briefing has underlined - and #iFLOW is one of our planned measures to use in summer 2024. 👉We conducted cross-border weather trials to improve the coordination between ANSPs and EUROCONTROL's #NMOC Network Manager Operation Centre during convective weather events, using the iFLOW prototype designed by NMOC controllers to act as the future user interface in #iNM, our integrated Network Management system. The prototype developed by #EIH, our Innovation Hub in Brétigny, was connected to the NMOC system, allowing controllers to observe the evolution of the convective cells throughout the day. This enabled them to 📌 determine the severity of the convective cells 📌 identify the impacted traffic volumes 📌 quantify the airspace capacity reduction due to severe weather conditions. Feedback from NMOC and #FMP flow management position controllers? A solid 👍 - iFLOW helped controllers better assess convective weather conditions and reduce their impact on the network.
