The dragon is associated with incredible strength, positive transformation, and challenges. And, the element wood, symbolises creativity and adaptability. 🌳 Together, they make the Year of the Wood Dragon sound surprisingly like this year’s mass timber outlook. The Sagrada Familia, one of the most iconic and astounding buildings in the world, serves as a precursor in the modern field of biomimetics. ⛪ Gaudí did not follow the established methods of construction, but rather looked for ideas within nature, creating a structure where form and function become an integral part of one and the same. The branching columns in the nave mimic the way trees distribute weight, offering exceptional support for the soaring heights. Imagine walking through a sun -🌲dappled forest🌲- that's the experience Gaudí envisioned. Light takes center stage too. Gaudí incorporated hyperboloids (geometric hourglass-like shapes) within the windows and roof, mimicking natural structures that diffuse sunlight.🌞 The light, filtering through stained glass and reflecting between the columns, creates an ethereal glow – just like sunlight dappling through leaves. With the Sagrada Familia, Gaudí demonstrated how to emulate nature in our creations, resulting in something that was not only esthetically beautiful but also structurally sound. 🙌 . . . #sagradafamilia #biomimicry #innovation #futureproof

It is a spatial experience, where one discovers something without searching for the centre. It is not a pointed search. Oku is revealed as one moves through a space. It relates to Depth, but without being aware of the direction or its measure. The sense of Oku is realized through the vacancy and not the occupancy. Oku literally, signifies, private, intimate and deep experience. It is reflected in architecture, paintings and gardens, where one spatially moves around.

The circular form of this building was designed as an interpretation of the "tree of life" concept, which illustrates the interconnectedness of all living things.

Let me „take you” to the Langen Foundation in Neuss designed by Tadao Ando, which is a contemporary art museum.🏛️🎨 The building was designed in the 1990s and is characteristic of Ando’s style, utilizing raw materials such as concrete and glass, while focusing on harmony between architecture and the surrounding landscape 🌊. Also here you can get a ☕️ from a self-service coffee machine. As a supporter of self-education, I find Tadao Ando’s particularly inspiring. Tadao despite not having formal college’s education, pursued his passion and mastered his craft through self-study. In my own career, I’ve similarly embraced self-education. For example, when I was 18, I independently took an art history exam as part of my high school graduation, without any guidance from the school 🏫 teacher. I asked Midjourney about panorama of city in Poland in year 2100 and the results are... interesting :D 75% of the images presents cities in Poland like from medieval or XIX/early XX century. From the other hand city like that one below could be very nice alternative for actual architecture trends. It will be nice to combine old classic architecture style with tons of new technology under the hood. Anxiety, stress, depression and numerous related diseases are still top 10 causes of death in "developed countries". Not to mention the armed conflicts. . Perhaps the indigenous peoples of the world have a missing key that can bring more balance to our contemporary societies. In celebration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, which happened on last August 9th, we bring you an interesting Architectural project from the Amazon region of Brazil with local inspiration. . Also, learn more about one of the many Indigenous tribes from Brazil, the Tupy, and its very interesting story, or "myth", that explains the origins and development of the Universe, very similar to the Hindu's cosmogony, by the way. .
