There is always a lot of excitement with new placement! I want to see it right when it hits the shelf! The issue is that early placement may be before the POG teams get to the stores! I saw 2 Van Leeuwen Ice Cream skus make their way into a couple Winn-Dixie stores last week! Yesterday was the first time I saw all 7 on shelf! Now, as you can see, they are spread throughout. They’ll probably get aligned in the next few weeks! Still excited to see them! Seeing new placement is one of the best parts of the job! Van Leeuwen is crushing it for SMB Sales & Marketing 🍦7 new skus at Winn Dixie. All new. 🍦Brand new news! 6 new skus coming to Ingles soon. 🍦7 skus at Harris Teeter since we started. 2 new 🍦2 skus hitting Lowes Foods in a few days 🍦4 SKUs upgrade hitting The Fresh Market in a few days. 2 net since we started, but improved skus! 🍦A bunch added to Earth Fare last year! When you work in our trade, you really have to watch your filters. I looked at this Tony's Chocolonely display in Waitrose & Partners and at first thought there was a cheeky store manager putting private label on there, completely ignoring the messaging on the display. It’s good to have reminders like this. As soon as we forget to look at stores as shoppers, we’re not giving ourselves an honest appraisal. What’s your thoughts? Starbucks grew 35,711 stores in 52 years. My goal? We're going to beat that by a landslide! Then they proceed to ask me... "What is your strategy?" It's actually quite simple. I got deceived... I was shopping at Morrisons and purchased the below. What do you think was inside the box? . . . . . . . . . . It was just lamb curry and no rice, Did you guess it right? 'Shoppers read the picture before the words' Yes the words say lamb curry, but the picture has it with rice. 1.The picture on the box 2.The size of the box 3.The category it was placed (adjacent products) made me think, that it was lamb curry and rice in it. Pricing is also important. Example, Walmart Equate Omeprazole 20mg, 42 tabs, priced around $14 and change, Walgreen comparable brand/size is around $23, can't be competitive, image is most important. Publix is also around $23. Just my thoughts. Eye appeal and price, not sure of the cost, but if I still managed a store I would build a display in the front lobby priced at $9.99 for a month and see what happens. Just an old guy that didn't know much except how to make money. Nothing wrong with a lost leader or two, never hurt my overall net to sales, builds traffic count, improves average sale in my day. Reset season is almost here! This is when grocery stores literally reset the entire store department by department. That means if our product isn't selling well, it's getting cut. And then we're fighting everyone else to get the open spot someone lost. What seems like a minor placement in a neighborhood Kroger can weigh heavily on our fate for the year. The aisles will look a lot different in the next month or two. Less noise due to fewer choices and a focus on what the retailers can depend on to bring sales (hopefully). The buying habits of craft customers have evolved, and the stores will soon reflect it. And frankly, it is time. We've worked closely with our retail and distributor partners to secure placements in the appropriate stores. Yes, not every store needs Half-Life. Almost hard to believe, right? But now is not the time for packing beer on shelves in places that don't move. It's about the collective effort to elevate the craft beer experience in North Texas and provide you with beautiful beer because you deserve better.
