💡 Why can't insurance firms effectively 'sell' their opportunities to prospective candidates? I was at an event recently with several insurance leaders, and the topic of attracting young people to the sector came up. After listening to lots of the discussion my point was simple. Clients that I work with every day often struggle to answer one of my critical questions about the role they are hiring for: "How would you sell the position to a prospective candidate?" Hiring managers rarely have a good answer to this question. So, if we are struggling to come up with a good enough value proposition for experienced candidates who usually already know the insurance sector, how are we ever going to come up with something compelling that attracts talented young people who don't understand anything about insurance and have more choice than ever? Having a compelling answer to 'Why you?' is critical. An executive search partner’s support should go way beyond simply placing an insurance leader in your business. Part of your initial assessment should focus on their post search support.
