Health tech firm Color has teamed up with OpenAI to develop an AI assistant that aids doctors in formulating personalised cancer screening and treatment strategies, significantly aiming to minimise delays in care. 👨⚕️ The details: 🎗 Color's AI copilot, developed on GPT-4o, examines patient information, guidelines, and medical records to pinpoint gaps in screening and devise customised diagnostic plans. 🎗 By automating pre-treatment evaluations, essential weeks or months are saved in treatment time—with the risk of cancer mortality increasing by 6-13% for each month of delay. 🎗 During trials, doctors utilising the AI copilot identified four times as many missing laboratories and tests as those not using the tool. 🎗 Color plans to deliver AI-generated screening plans for over 200,000 patients by late 2024. Why it matters: Treating the world’s second-leading cause of death demands urgency, yet cancer patients often experience significant delays in diagnosis and treatment.
