I was just talking with one of my ex-colleagues last Sunday, and he mentioned about the in-depth application of 5s at their factory premises. it was just amazing and enlightened me with great knowledge and experiences. A few take away I am sharing here for your eyes: 1. The vision and mission objective of the organisation has to be clear, and a drafted policy should be in place which will set the objective for the executive members. 2. Objectives to be drafted in line with the policy and the organisation to follow it till the last mile delivery or end product or service closures. 3. the process of 5s to be integrated as an organisational attribute, not a task. 4. Interaction with ground team and brain storming on process alignment is to be noted. tasks related to such alignment to be reviewed by authorised committees and related work to be assigned to managers. 5. Instead of a task review, improvement opportunities to be taken up and bottlenecks to be minimised. 6. Celebrate milestones. This includes all the 5s rules and procedures integrated within it. as, it's a most common and heavily articulated topic, not getting into the micro detailing of it. The potential he shared is a huge huge savings. More to it, this enhances the aesthetic and safety of the premises.
