Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Implementation > Ideas
I recently choreographed an event featuring various performing artists. I had to assemble a team of dancers for different locations and times throughout the event day.
During one planning meeting, I mentioned to the event manager that since the theme was #SummerReign, it would be fitting to incorporate a more regal and royal element.
I proposed placing thrones around the venue, especially on the red carpet in front of the branding, to encourage people to take photos.
Having mentioned this in passing, I didn’t expect much.
To my amazement, when I arrived at the event with my team, there were beautifully decorated thrones strategically placed around the venue.
We enhanced this attraction by having our dancers, in their captivating costumes, perform near the thrones, encouraging more people to take photos with the performers.
This demonstrated the event manager’s strong leadership and listening skills; but more importantly, they implemented the idea.
Not only did I feel heard and valued, but I also felt compelled to work with them again.
Most importantly, the event manager showed a commitment to action, ensuring the best experience for attendees and the best value for the end client.

Always work to become a R⭕️CK ⭐️ at whatever you do.
This will expand your influence.
Take hold of the idea that whatever you do — whatever you have been called to and are responsible for — you are there to perform like an artist.
While you might not receive the amount of recognition, accolades, applause or exposure as the stars of stage and screen, the work you do is the same as any Oscar, Emmy or Grammy award winner performing their art.
Last night, the ladies next to us were very entertaining at dinner. Really working the staff and each other with story upon revelatory story.
It made us want more. It made us want to hear them again. They should’ve been doing standup….
It was a show…an event.
In the market, you are a performer as well as a salesperson, leader or teammate, and what you are delivering is the enjoyment the audience receives as a result of your stage presence.
By doing whatever you do remarkably well, you make yourself Standout as relevant, remarkable and Unforgettable.
You will create raving fans for life, and you just might make yourself rich and famous.
The world is deeply in need of truly great performers – those who take their art seriously, who understand the power of personality and who actively work to not only Standout from the crowd but to dazzle, Amaze and delight their audience.
Convert one skeptic into a believer, and not only will you have a happy customer, you’ll have also created a performance worth talking about.
You will enjoy a much fuller life, and you will build some incredible experiences.

Wynn vs. Fontainebleau: Let's Get Ready to Rumble! (Update) - Multiple customers that either stayed or played at Fontainebleau in the last 30 days all report the same thing, "Fontainebleau is a ghost town."
There are several great business lessons here:
Happy Wynn employees don't leave for a few shekels. My response would be to the traitors, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out."
As a candidate, always perform your due diligence before accepting a job. Fontainebleau has blown through four Casino Presidents in less than a year. Several SVP/VP executives have come and gone. Don't care how much they are paying you, going to Fontainebleau at this point is a CLM (career limiting strategy).
Las Vegas is a city of 2,200,000 run by 200 people. If you get sideways with people, it's off to Asia or tribal gaming for you. Relationships trump talent.
Never put something in writing you don't want to see splashed on the front page of the paper.

The beauty of an ensemble cast is the culmination of their strengths orchestrated with precision and timing. On Broadway, the grid iron, or a college campus, each team member understands the importance of their role, but more importantly, they understand how their talents and acumen add heft to that position. Dr. Elizabeth Garrett use to say, “Relentless preparation is the key to success.” A team is best when it works as a system and not a machine. Understand the value of each position you hold through your career. It matters. Be well. #leadershipcoaching#playyourposition
What started out as celebrating a birthday 🍰 with one of my best friends this past weekend in Atlanta, Ga., led to reflections on leadership in entertainment. Many of you may have already experienced one of Janet Jackson’s concerts🎤before but this was my first time. Entertainers like Janet (and Nelly who was her only opening act and who gave an excellent performance as well) have the power to influence and inspire audiences, advocate for causes, raise awareness, and drive positive change. Through their platforms, their leadership extends beyond professional success by setting powerful examples where they dismantle barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create spaces where everyone can experience feelings of happiness😊, regardless of their background. Janet's performances showcase leadership through audience connection, appreciation, and dedication to her profession. She also embodies leadership on a level that exhibits her reach for the ultimate connection with her audience, her drive to make sure they feel her appreciation, and her investment in honing her craft.
📚 The Leadership Big Three:
➡️ Establish Genuine Connections. Entertainers connect with audiences through familiarity - telling personal stories, sharing emotions, and experiences, making each person feel valued and creating lasting impressions.
➡️ Show Appreciation. Entertainers show gratitude to fans through autographs, selfies, and personal interactions, making each fan feel appreciated. They use social media to stay connected, provide updates, share exclusive content, or express appreciation in real-time.
➡️ Invest in Preparation. Understand why you are doing what you are doing, know the overall objective(s), and what you’re trying to accomplish. Entertainers pay attention to every detail and practice relentlessly. They focus on details including music, choreography, lighting, and costumes to create memorable performances that can last for a lifetime and beyond.
Entertainers leave a lasting impact through genuine engagement, fostering a sense of community and connection that extends beyond the stage. Both leaders and entertainers show high-levels of confidence through their social interactions, expertise, and self-worth. Leadership is multifaceted and encompasses not only the influence of those in the spotlight but also through the vision and dedication of those working in leadership positions across industries everywhere. Together, WE inspire, educate, and lead by example, proving that leadership truly knows no bounds!😊
💪 Understand your power
💪 Hone your power
💪 Nurture your power
💪 BE YOUR POWER

Reflecting on this year’s festival, beyond the glitz and glamour. 🧡
Here are some of my key takeaways after observing, (over)hearing, and experiencing human interactions in #Cannes during the festival, where various cultures, strong personalities, and ambitions meet:
1. Treat everyone with respect and kindness, regardless of their status. Character is often revealed in how we treat others.
2. Honesty, authenticity, and vulnerability are crucial in building genuine connections.
3. Uphold professionalism and integrity at all times. Respect others’ time, efforts, and work, and honor your words and commitments. Without integrity we have nothing.
4. Never compromise on self-respect and know your worth. If you’re not valued, withdraw gracefully.
5. Support each other—it’s the recipe for shared success. We’re all in this together.
6. Challenge the hierarchies—don’t let yours or anyones else’s stardom, wealth, or power influence your behavior. We’re all human beings fulfilling different roles and deserving of equal respect, be it the waiter, the receptionist, or the talent.
Let’s embrace kindness as a guiding principle in our interactions, both at festivals and most importantly in our everyday lives. 🧡

Four years ago this week, the word ground to a virtual halt. The #sportsbiz was impacted as much as any other industry.
In some ways, it seems like yesterday. In others, it seems like a lifetime ago.
I do remember telling myself that if I made it through the lock down I would never again complain about being too busy.
So, as I near the end of a great engagement I've had for the past several months, I find myself looking to add some partners to my dance card. So, if you have a need for an outside resource, or know someone who does, please keep me in mind.
But, I digress. Let's mark the anniversary by recognizing the nice people around us through the weekly Nice Guy Awards.
Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals).
If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EST on Thursday.
There are only 3 requirements:
1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate
2) you can only nominate one person per week
3) you can’t nominate yourself 😀
If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement.
Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice.
Have a great day, everyone.
