By proclamation March 25 is the first official "Women in Agriculture" day in Minnesota (though we know every day is women in ag day!). To celebrate, over 40 women in ag from around the state gathered to share their stories at the Capitol (virtually, because of the snow). Thanks to Senator Mary Kunesh, UMN Extension Community Development, Minnesota Department of Agriculture and USDA Farm Service Agency MN for organizing! To kick off the day, I was asked to share some tips for engaging with policymakers: - Democracy is a participatory sport - show up! - Be specific and clear - Share stories - it's not your job to be a policy expert, but you can be an expert in your own experience - Build relationships - And worth repeating- Democracy is a participatory sport. Bring a friend and share the experience.

It’s Bristol Women's Voice International Women’s Day Celebration at City Hall this Saturday. This annual event celebrates the diverse communities of women across the city. Our new CEO Annabel will join a panel for the ‘Caring Economy: what values do we place on care?’ talk at 2–3.30 pm. Panellists will discuss and debate what change needs to happen in Bristol to ensure that caring is everyone’s business.
