A company without a well defined vision, one that is for the greater good, will fail. Having a vision that attracts the type of people who can choose where to work and choose to work at a place because they believe in its vision and want to share in that vision is mission critical. Having a vision is step one. Step two is living that vision through a set of core values that allow everyone to become a decision maker. This is what separates good companies from great ones. CSK's big spend on Sameer Rizvi isn't just about money, it's about belief.  Belief in a young player's potential, in giving him the stage to shine. And I am glad that he is in now my forever favourite CSK. I believe youngsters need a chance, a platform to grow. And under Dhoni's guidance, Rizvi's skills will sharpen.  He is Thala for a reason! Will Rizvi rise like a star, or stumble under the spotlight? Only time will tell.  But one thing's for sure: CSK's bold move has opened the door for a talented youngster. Everyone needs to remember the environment that pervious generations faced is not the environment of Gen Z-and vice versa-so we need to stop judging each other as "good" or "bad", but just different. Here is the article: https://lnkd.in/gjtR7ea8 If you think through the people you know under 26, you will see different levels of focus and purpose. This has always been true, but more so now, the distribution in the values of Gen Z are probably more distributed away behaviors related to loyalty and sacrifice for work. They have another hurdle- and that is a lack of trust in organizations and power; the level of skepticism is pronounced and fueled by social media. The last generation with similar thinking was during and post Vietnam War. Like then, this group is ready for a change in the values of society, a zest for life (outside of work and rules), idealistic, full of good intentions, and easily influenced. As a result-there is plenty to work with here! Realize the balance of the workforce and you, may share the same bias against Gen Z! That can be a tough pill to swallow. The good news is this can be resolved through information sharing, engagement & collaboration, and probably some changes to the way we work.
