At the core of this, is a industry-leading product localisation approach: 1. 🧠 Strategy - Top-level group strategy is filtered down into individual market strategy, strategic objectives and localisation roadmap; placing the Revolut vision at heart of what they do. 2. 🌍 Local Leadership - Revolut hires local leaders who understand the local market and can build empathy with their customers. 3. 📖 Legislation - Deep understanding of local legislation and regulation not only prevents unpleasant surprises from regulators, but can also turn potential blockers into enablers of growth. 4. 👓 Product - Revolut launch a “default MVP” in every geography — foreign exchange, peer to peer payments and split bills. At the same time, Revolut also adapts its CX to the needs of customers in the new market. 5. 📈 Scale & Grow - Revolut starts with a lean team, between 2-3 people, and product. EXPERIENCE 💸 In the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to use Revolut as an exchange student, and while it’s an incredible tool for managing international finances, I’ve encountered some challenges with the document validation process. 👩🏻💻As a Product Manager with extensive experience in digital products in Brazil, I understand the importance of an efficient automated process. However, when automation fails, as in the case of reading passports from different nationalities, it's crucial to have an alternative process in place. 💡I believe that an update to the document recognition system would be a significant improvement for Revolut, preventing customers from facing issues when trying to update their accounts. I understand how these processes work, and just because I became an exchange student doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten everything I know about the field. My suggestion: a manual review process, as an alternative to the automated one, could be a simple and effective solution to ensure all documents are properly validated. I hope Revolut considers this suggestion, and that other fintech companies also think about how to improve their user experience, especially when catering to a global and diverse audience. Focus on Core Value Offering Before the pandemic, numerous companies were experimenting with various strategies, launching new verticals, and conducting many experiments in the pursuit of growth 🚀 🔍 However, in the post-pandemic landscape, it's clear that the focus has shifted to enhancing the core areas of the product. The goal now is to flawlessly, consistently, and swiftly solve user problems and stick to the main product offering without getting distracted. 💡 This made me think of products which are really exceptional at what they do, and the first name that has popped up is Revolut and why I picked Revolut. Perhaps because whenever I used it, it works like a charm, never had to encounter any friction big or small. Because of their continuous value delivery, it has created a positive association in my mind, which has made me not consider any other product for this particular use case. 🌟 Moving forward, this is the goal for each product. Some will be able to consistently deliver exceptional experiences, while others might struggle. 🌈 However, this may not be enough; some products are awesome and deliver exceptional value constantly, but have not figured out the way to make money💰 I guess then the formula for success could be: 1- Deliver exceptional, consistent experiences 2- Figure out how to make money. 💸 #productdiary
