Looking forward to tomorrow's (Monday) discussion at 10:30 AM ET with dear colleagues David Goldman and Kalpak Gude along with Edgar Rivas, and the Technology Policy Institute's Sarah Oh Lam. Zoom link below if you're interested in tuning in. Topic: Satellite spectrum usage is governed largely by legacy frameworks that may not be appropriate given increased deployments and use of satellite connections. What new developments from WRC-23 affect satellite policy going forward? The FCC’s Space Bureau, other federal agencies and international bodies, have levers to speed up or slow down innovation in space. What is the state of policy in satellite spectrum, can there be more flexibility or is command and control inevitable?

Is the United States still dominating in the space industry? 🤔 💲 The US still leads with government investment at $73 billion in #space, but other nations are quickly closing the gap as seen with #Europe’s consistent investments and #Asia’s growing global spending share due primarily to #China’s substantial expenditure in the sector. Space continues to become a more competitive environment, with America’s global lead decreasing by 12% since 2000. In 2023 alone, global government investments in space activities totaled $117 billion, highlighting the global surge of interest in the #SpaceIndustry. 👉 Dive deeper into our ‘Government Space Programs’ report analyzing these improved investments and newly established dedicated space agencies, their activities, strategies, policies, and more on our Digital Platform: https://lnkd.in/d983x-9
