Two impactful trends in the Travel & Hospitality Industry: - Adoption of AI - Sustainability initiatives Interconnectedness: Both trends contribute to the industry's advancement and profitability. AI is the capability of computer systems to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. Tasks like visual perception, speech recognition, decision making and translation between languages, but what makes AI truly remarkable is its ability to not just mimic human intelligence but to learn and adapt over time. The Hotels & Travel industry today has access to data - both in terms of users and their behaviour. Personalisation, faster access, and quicker turnaround time are revolutionising the service industry. What it is also doing is reducing wastage, zero paper usage, lesser human intervention in doing a mundane job and saving time. Sustainability is about the adoption of technology to reduce wastage, using more innovative products and focusing on greener working practices. Transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy in all sectors – power, heating and cooling, transportation, and industry – is key to addressing the climate crisis. To stay under 1.5°C of global warming, the world needs to immediately phase out fossil fuel use and undergo a profound transformation of the energy system through rapid electrification and sourcing energy from renewable sources. Both the Travel and Hospitality industries are taking significant measures in energy usage and saving of the same. The tourism industry can play a significant role in addressing climate change and global warming.
