Stalinist architectural heritage. Creativity, courage, design. And, truth be told, not exactly in a place recognized for this type of project. Tasked with converting a Soviet-era residential block in the capital of Kazakhstan into a modern café, bakery, and restaurant, the women-led architectural studio NAAW Studio chose to create a playful project transformed into a Scandinavian-inspired restaurant while respecting the original structure.
