📉 **PwC LLP to Implement Major Layoffs in the US** 📉 PwC LLP will be parting ways with approximately 1,800 US employees next month as part of a strategic restructuring aimed at streamlining its advisory practice. This decision, announced in a memo from Senior Partner Paul Griggs, represents about 2.4% of the firm’s 75,000 employees and includes staff from tax, assurance practices, and off-shore offices. Griggs noted, “Execution of our strategy requires tough decisions, including those that impact our workforce.” He emphasized that these changes are essential for positioning PwC for future growth, allowing for increased investment, and aligning with market opportunities. In addition to the layoffs, PwC is shifting its in-house technology developers to work more closely with front-line professionals. This move is intended to enhance the firm’s focus on emerging technologies such as generative AI and streamlined business services. Despite the reductions, PwC’s revenue was reported at $22.7 billion in 2023. The layoffs come as part of a broader trend in the industry, with other Big Four firms, including Deloitte, KPMG, and EY, also implementing significant workforce reductions in recent years. The firm’s global affiliates have faced challenges as well, with recent job cuts in China and Australia amid various controversies. #PwC #Layoffs #StrategicRestructuring #BigFour #Accounting #Technology #AI #BusinessStrategy

Analyst || MBA || 5K+ Followers || KPMG-Certified in Lean Six Sigma, Business Analytics & Financial Modeling || Expertise in Investment Banking & Business Intelligence || Driving Financial Growth & Maximizing ROI
Over the past 6 days, I've engaged in interviews with a focus on roles within esteemed organizations. Each interview served a distinct purpose—some aimed at securing a job, others for personal development, and a few to gauge the pulse of the job market. Ethical dilemmas emerged as intriguing discussion points, yet I'd like to spotlight the paramount role of hands-on experience. As a recent graduate venturing into finance and investment banking, I may lack traditional experience. However, I've proactively completed 16 job simulations, including projects with JPMorgan Chase's Financial Modeling Initiative, Goldman Sachs' Risk Analysis Challenge, and Morgan Stanley's Portfolio Optimization Task. These projects, laden with challenges, have honed a skill set that sets me apart. I actively engaged in comprehensive Investment Banking simulations facilitated by J.P. Morgan, Citi, and Bank of America, strategically designed to enhance core skills essential for the finance industry. Standard Bank Group - Behavioral Economics: Delving into the intricacies of human behavior in economic decisions. Deloitte - Technology: Navigating the evolving landscape of technology solutions and implementations. EY - Climate Change and Sustainability: Addressing the imperative of sustainable practices, foreseeing the demand for Green Audits in the corporate landscape. Bloomberg - Client Services: Mastering the art of client interaction, anticipating its significance in future roles. Goldman Sachs - Excel Skills: Elevating proficiency in Excel, a cornerstone in the financial domain. BCG X - Data Science: Unleashing the power of data for strategic decision-making. BCG x - Strategic & Experience Design: Acquiring design thinking skills for innovative problem-solving. JP Morgan - Asset Management: Navigating the complexities of efficient asset management. JP Morgan - Markets (Sales and Trading): Gaining insights into the dynamic world of sales and trading. Citi - Finance: Crafting financial acumen through hands-on finance simulations. Latham and Watkins - Mergers and Acquisitions: Immersing in the intricacies of legalities in M&A transactions. PwC - Power BI: Harnessing Power BI for insightful data visualization. JP Morgan - Excel Skills (Again): Further honing Excel skills through tailored simulations. Excited to leverage this unique blend in a dynamic work environment! #FinanceProfessional #JobMarketInsights #CareerDevelopment

I am happy to share with you my last certificate: "J.P.Morgan Chase Investment Banking Job Simulation on Forage - January 2024" 🚀 During the simulation I have been asked to complete some tasks: 1) Identified an ideal M&A target for a client based on an assessment of their strategic and financial criteria. 2) Constructed a DCF model to calculate the valuation of the M&A target and adjusted the model to account for a competitor bid and supply chain interruption. 3) Created a 2-pager for the client containing a company profile and summary of the auction process. The simulation provided an excellent chance to experience what a typical workday at JPMorgan is like! #investmentbanking #jpmorgan #jpmorganchase #finance

Being let go sucks; PwC binned 400 people earlier this week; I actually posted this on Reddit first. ▶️Try not to take it personally. Remember that your role has been made redundant, and you, as a human, are not redundant. ▶️Often, being made redundant can be the best thing that happens to you; it has been for me. ▶️Take the time to think things through. The natural reaction is to start applying for roles, etc. Don't do this. Take your time, let it sink in, and get clear on what you do next. ▶️Make sure you are clear on your rights as an employer and your severance/redundancy payment and entitlements, etc. 👍You got this, remember it's not your doing. --------------- I post regularly on LinkedIn and help people secure their next career opportunity.
