Today, while traveling back from my office I came across a lady bus conductor who collected the fare and announced the stations. Upon finding an opportunity I started to converse with her. According to her- she joined the work a month back. There were 25 lady staff trained but now only few are surviving. Some felt shy while others could not bear the struggle so left the job. 🗣️It's truly inspiring to encounter individuals like her who face challenges with courage and determination. Her willingness to overcome obstacles and provide for her family is commendable. She embodies the spirit of resilience and hard work. #International Day of #SocialJustice, is celebrated annually on February 20th. It aims to raise awareness about social justice issues such as #poverty, #inequality, and #discrimination, and to promote efforts towards creating a more just and #equitableworld. December 10 marks the 75th anniversary of Human Rights Day. Housing is recognized as a Universal Declaration of Human Rights. According to the 2023 Greater Vancouver Homeless Count, the homeless population increased by 32% over the last three years in Greater Vancouver. The Bloom Group provides shelter, supportive housing and affordable housing options for 600 individuals in Vancouver. We are on the ground every day delivering essential services to ensure human rights for all by the provision of housing, food, health and social services. We advocate for the rights of the most vulnerable members of our community and are committed to providing safety, stability and health so everyone may thrive. This article highlights the nuances that exist at the intersection of LGBTQIA+ and Jewish identities and how intersectionality can inform public service and engagement with minoritized populations in public and nonprofit organizations. The authors use LGBTQIA+ Jewish communities to construct four tenets of intersectionality—multiple and mutually constitutive identities, dynamic processes in managing multiple identities, discrimination within identities, and intersectional organizations—and discuss their relevance to public administration. #NonprofitAdvocacyLab #Research #UF #FriendsoftheLab
