📰 [ARTICLE] A new systematic review of 10 studies* (701 patients) assessed high-flow therapy (HFT) via nasal cannula in pts with #COPD, #bronchiectasis or ILD. All studies that assessed exacerbations suggested a reduction with HFT (±LTOT) vs usual care or LTOT alone. HFT also reduced hospitalisations & improved HRQoL & paCO2 levels in patients with chronic respiratory failure. Moreover, HFT was superior to LTOT and usual care for improvements in the 6-minute walk test in patients with COPD or ILD. HFT was well tolerated with a favourable safety profile, with most studies reporting adherences between 5–9 hours/day. 👉 https://bit.ly/4504PiV
