At last week's Effective Communications webinar co-hosted by Canada's Ocean Supercluster and Cove Public Affairs, Nancy and I couldn't help but kick things off with this throwback photo from ~2012. We noted our history working together to help build a brand that was new to the NL market (and that we understood the hard work, all-hands-on-deck and jack/jill-of-all-trades approach that is required). The first day Alyse Hand and I met, we knew we were going to be friends. Within the first month, we knew we had to team up to create a special offering. Alyse (who works with Iris Communications) specializes in Media Training and my main focus is Presentation Training, so we fit together like the pieces of a puzzle. Both long-time TV broadcasters, there's not a whiff of competition between us. The opposite is true; we celebrate each others' gifts and find a particular kind of joy in the way we complement each other. And we both love helping our clients get comfortable SHOWING UP in the spotlight. What a treat to do work you're passionate about with people you love and respect ! That's the sweet-spot in business. BTW...our workshop today was a fun and fast-paced session, and I laughed out loud when I saw this behind-the-scenes clip. If you look closely, you'll see our makeshift laptop stands. Two trash cans - one upside down, and the other on its side! That was my contribution to the set-up. LOL That messy mind of mine may not be linear...but it is resourceful. A creative solution = a WIN for the right hemisphere.
