School administrators have enough on their plates. From meeting with parents and community partners, to supporting teaching staff — all while monitoring their schools’ performance against learning goals — every minute counts. Add to that an increasing national teacher shortage — finding (and maintaining!) a healthy sub pool has become an especially acute challenge. That’s why now more than ever, school districts are opting into substitute teacher staffing agencies because they can provide the expertise, reliability, and support that schools crave. Third day of celebrating the educator shortage survey! And today I’ll address a great question from Carla Strickland about substitutes! This year, the survey collected data on superintendent perspectives on substitute shortages. 93% of school leaders reported issues here. But, interestingly, our dashboard shows the least concern by leaders in cities (80%) rather than towns, rural, and suburban areas. There are also no appreciable differences in superintendent concern between districts with different concentrations of students of color. You can explore the relationship between sub shortages and district characteristics more on the dashboard: https://lnkd.in/dbcrbvA3
