With staffing challenges remaining top of mind in veterinary medicine, the AVMA House of Delegates (HOD) focused attention last weekend during the Veterinary Information Forum on two far-reaching proposals that carry great risk for veterinary patients and teams: ➡ The importance of establishing the veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) in person, including for telemedicine ➡ Creation of a midlevel position that would overlap the roles of the veterinarian and veterinary technician The delegates also focused on future workforce needs and the current staffing challenges in specific veterinary segments. https://bit.ly/4aT3AEG

Do you ever experience that unsettling feeling when your car seems to have a mind of its own, pulling to the left or right? It might be out of alignment, signaling the need for a check-up or inspection. Similarly, just like cars, the delegation of responsibilities within a practice can get out of alignment too. Is it time for a checkup? 🚗💡 Check out the Veterinary Team Member Utilization Assessment Tool to discover if a realignment of responsibilities is needed to help your practice run more efficiently . #veterinarypractice #veterinarymedicine #veterinarytechnician #alignment #responsibilities #assessment #practicemanagement #consulting #animalhealth #aaha

#ivpa is for veterinarians who resist the influence of MBAs in managing their practices. It's for those who are tired of being told they aren't performing enough fecal floats and nail trims. This is a call to those who feel they are losing their autonomy, passion, focus, and purpose. Why should someone with no knowledge of veterinary medicine dictate your actions? It's time to take control of your own practice. Stop allowing these opportunists and posers to acquire veterinary clinics. Stand up for your rights, control your means of production and become an independent veterinarian!

Passionate Locum RVN | LVS 30u30 Winner 2022/23 | Judge 2023/24 | Founder of Management for Locums (MFL)
Why do I care about the veterinary locum sector? I'm a locum myself, I get that, but, I could easily do my job and go home again. The locum sector is probably one of the most disliked areas of the veterinary industry. Many professionals within the industry harbour a sense of disdain toward the sector. I acknowledge that it is often viewed negatively, plagued by issues like incorrect placements, Isolation, unreliable locums, high perceived costs, and a lack of tangible returns. But I see through ALL of that and THAT is exactly why I care. The locum sector is vital for our industry and I WILL flip your perspective, your vet friend's perspective and your next door neighbour's perspective on locums. Why? Because the look on your face... joking. It is because I've lived the challenges, and I'm determined to be part of the solution. Side note/funny observation: people tend to hush up about not liking locums when they're out in the open. It's why I expect this post to be pretty quiet.

I discuss five of those things here. As True.Vet gets ready to launch our first #veterinary practice in 2024, we will be utilizing True Vet Potential as a training and information tool for our partner and associate veterinarians!
