As India’s first talentpreneur mentor, I coach MSME’s and SME’s to build effective Sales Teams in 120 days using my STARS framework that enables them to double their turnover.
You can't build a strong team with "lucky guesses". You know what I mean… → Hiring based on gut feeling? That's a gamble! → Choosing candidates with fancy degrees? That can backfire! → Falling for buzzwords? That misses the point! I tell my clients all the time: "Trends and luck are not a strategy. → Clear competency indicators for hiring? ⦾ That's a strategy. → Training that develops core skills? ⦾ That's a strategy. → Regular assessments? ⦾ That's a strategy. → Feedback that fosters growth? ⦾ That's a strategy. → A supportive work culture? ⦾ That's a strategy. And none of these are "Quick Fixes". It's never about chasing the latest trend. It's always about building real, lasting skills. However long it takes until your "dream team" is ready. Stay focused on real growth, my friends! P.S. Struggling to build a high-performing sales team? DM for a FREE strategy session. How do you blow up 💣 organizational silos? You're either operating in a matrix organization or a silo organization. The difference between the two is stark and significantly impacts the success of individuals, teams, and organizations. 🌐 MATRIX ORGANIZATION: Open hierarchy, with a global POV. Employees often support various leaders. Cross-functional communication, collaboration and decision-making is normalized. 🗼SILO ORGANIZATION: Strong vertical structures, with a kingdom-builder mindset. Employees are confined to their respective department. Over-emphasis on independence and specialization becomes a hindrance to interdepartmental coordination. So, how do you blow up 💣 organizational silos and pivot to a matrix organization? Simple, embrace GIVERS 🎁 ⛑ In summarizing his debut book Give and Take, Adam Grant says, "Success is not about winning a competition. It’s about making a contribution." Grant places folks into three buckets: Givers, Takers and Matchers. 🎁 GIVERS: Generous with their time, energy, and resources. Always willing to help others with no expectations. Willingly vulnerable as they embrace a "do the right thing" ⛑ lifestyle. 🤳 TAKERS: Primarily focused on their own interests and often try to get as much as possible from others. Success is short-term and relationships tend to suffer 💔 in the long run. 🤝 MATCHERS: Prioritize fairness and seek a balance ⚖ between giving and taking. Think quid pro quo, and reciprocating favors. The relationship is very transactional. 3 Easy, actionable steps to foster a giving culture: 🥇 Reward teamwork and team wins. Shift performance metrics to team-oriented KPIs. Restructure bonuses and commissions to reflect team impact. 🥈 Encourage 🙋♂️ 🙋♀️ asking for help, 🚫 no lone rangers. 🥉 Prioritize hiring more givers. Seek to weed/screen out takers during the interview process. #leadership #professionaldevelopment #growth #customersuccess If you found this content useful, please repost ♻ to your network, comment, like & follow me David Brown

🚀🚀🚀 Hiring for Attitude: A Must for Every Company 🚀🚀🚀 In the quest for the right talent, companies often weigh skills and experience heavily. Yet, one crucial element trumps both: attitude. Why? Because while you can teach skills, shaping someone’s attitude is far trickier. Individuals with a great attitude bring enthusiasm, adaptability, and resilience that no training can instill. They fit seamlessly into your company culture, uplifting team morale and driving collective success. Moreover, these individuals directly influence customer satisfaction and brand perception through their proactive and empathetic interactions. They not only tackle challenges head-on but also embody potential leadership qualities, poised to guide a company toward long-term success. In short, skills matter, but attitude defines the true value an employee brings to the table. It's the secret sauce to building a cohesive, innovative, and resilient team ready to take on tomorrow’s challenges. Prioritizing attitude in your hiring process isn’t just smart; it’s essential for sustained growth and success. #Hiring #BusinessStrategy #CompanyCulture #Leadership #Innovation

How are you steering your team through the storm of uncertainty? Navigating turbulent times as a sales leader isn't for the faint-hearted; it demands resilience, adaptability, and unwavering optimism. Leadership is tested most during periods of uncertainty. In today's tech landscape, marked by layoffs and economic volatility, maintaining a steady hand is crucial. Here is how you can keep a steady hand on the wheel and navigate successfully through uncertainty: 🧭 Stay at the Pulse: I make it a point to regularly check in with my team and our customers. Understanding their concerns and motivations allows me to address issues before they escalate and keeps me aligned with the changing landscape. 📣 Over-Communicate: Transparency is my ally. I keep my team informed about the company's status and any changes. It's better to over-communicate than to leave your team in the dark. 🧠 Control the Controllables: I focus on what I can influence – my strategy, the quality of our outreach, and the relationships we build. For instance, I reached out to over 500 executives in 1 organization to create the relationships and gather the intel and earn the influence necessary to secure the largest deal of my career, emphasizing the importance of persistence and quality connections. 🌍 Build Community: Fostering a culture of collaboration both within our organization and with external partners is crucial. Sharing ideas and best practices drives collective success and innovation. I want to connect with everyone who is achieving what I'm not, and learn new tools and techniques to assimilate into my arsenal. I'm always improving because of who I surround myself with. Somebody out there is having success - find them and learn from them. 💪 Mindset Shift: Embracing a growth mindset is essential. Viewing challenges as opportunities to build resilience and improve has been a game-changer for me. Tough times are prime for brand building and showcasing unique strengths. 🔍 Authenticity in Social Selling: In an age of AI and automation, authenticity stands out. Engaging genuinely with prospects and clients, leveraging tools to enhance, not replace, our personal touch, is key. Leading through turbulent times isn't just about survival; it's about emerging stronger, more resilient, and more connected. What steps will you take today to turn your team's challenges into opportunities for growth? #Leadership #SalesManagement #Resilience #GrowthMindset #SocialSelling #Collaboration #Authenticity #TechLeadership #SalesLeadership

Do you know your team? Do you know why they work for you? Do you make the most of their strengths, or are you constantly dealing with their struggles? For decades, businesses have focused on minimising or compensating for their teams' weak areas. But what if the focus shifted to team members' natural strengths and making the most of what they bring to the business as a whole? If you hire people solely based on their ability to fulfil a singular role, you’ll likely miss out on hiring people with strengths that will complement those of other team members. Thinking outside the box when hiring people can significantly enhance your ability to create sustained momentum. Remember, tasks can be learned, while personality and how people relate to one another are more challenging to shift. If you get people committed to continuous development with a solution mindset, you will quickly find yourself at the front of the pack in innovation and invention. #smallbusinessowner #businessfinances #strengthsandstruggles #strengths #dnanaturalbehaviorstyles #smallbusinesssuccess #smallbusiness #knowyourselfknowyourteam #thefinancialfence #businessowner #restandrhythm

At first, they might be a group of talented players, but without guidance, they struggle. It’s the coach who steps in, recognizes their individual strengths and weaknesses, and pushes them to work together. Over time, they stop competing against each other and start playing as a team. That’s when they win. The same applies to your business. Here’s what you need to do: - Identify the unique strengths and areas of improvement for each team member. - Encourage collaboration, not competition. - Create a culture where everyone is accountable, supports one another, and goes beyond their basic responsibilities. When you shift the focus from individual performance to collective growth, that’s when you see extraordinary results. The real success comes when your team is engaged, takes responsibility, and is committed to achieving the business goals together. Before hiring, always assess candidates through a small project or an interview—don’t rely on resumes alone. What’s your approach to building a high-performance team?
