Resumes are so crucial to first impression. That first impression can determine if the employer wants to speak with you or not. You may have good experience, but a lot of times when resumes are not laid out and formatted correctly, they instantly get thrown to the side or in the trash. Now with AI tools, some employers will use those to scan resumes themselves and they can really throw out a lot of qualified individuals due to the lack of proper format. Here are 4 tips to help you vamp up your resume today! Contact our office for open opportunities and more information on how to apply. Lead Talent Acquisition Partner @ Royal Caribbean Group | Empowering candidates to Job Hunt Like A Recruiter
𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: remember to send those final update emails to candidates before the holiday week! It’s the worst feeling in the world heading into the holidays feeling uncertain about your job search. 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀: take this opportunity to prep for the new year! While a lot of teams are out the last week of the year, recruiting will resume in full force starting the first week in January and you want to already be prepped for those next rounds of applications. Because there’s not always as much time during the holidays, I love using tools like Teal’s AI Resume Builder to rewrite your existing achievements to better match the jobs you are targeting. It may sound surprising, but almost half the resumes I see aren’t even close to the skills indicated in the job description so making sure your achievements align to the job description is a huge part of why you may not be moving forward in the process. While others may take this week completely off, spending an hour to make sure your resume is up to-date before those new year applications come out could be just the difference in landing your new role. #sponsored #hiring #career

In a world where we're striving for authenticity and genuine connections, the resume's 2D nature seems anachronistic. Do we not risk oversimplifying a candidate's rich tapestry of experiences and potential by just glancing at these dated documents? Aditya Malik ⚡, I feel the #ai age brings both opportunities and challenges. Should our focus therefore, not shift towards holistic, AI-assisted evaluations that capture the essence of a candidate, beyond just skills and experience? The idea of a resume itself being a 'first impression' might need reimagining. Imagine a world where your 'professional introduction' is a dynamic, multi-dimensional profile, resonating with both hard facts and soft skills. Thoughts? #BeyondTheResume #AIHumanSynergy

I haven't used all of the tools listed below, but I've used several of them, and I must say, the theory is sound. Getting past ATS (Applicant Tracking System) can be a difficult challenge. Some are even designed to delete resumes altogether if they are missing certain words or aren't in a usable format. Sending your resume to a company DOES NOT guarantee it will be seen by a human being! However, even with the advent of incredible AI technology, many companies (my clients, for example) continue to rely on Headhunters/Recruiters such as myself to sort through applicants. The only ATS I use is my memory and notepad. So, if you're worried about AI screening services utilized by companies, fear not! The surefire way to make sure your resume gets seen is sending it directly to a Recruiter. I specialize in sourcing and placing candidates experienced with Commercial Drywall, Metal Framing, & Finishes. Send your resume to me directly if you want to avoid ATS systems! I have seen plenty of misinformation here on LinkedIn lately suggesting that an ATS rejects resumes automatically, and then there are keywords to be mentioned in your resume to pass that. An ATS’s main functionality is simply to receive and organise resumes for review by human recruiters. Think of the ATS as a digital filing cabinet, compiling data from multiple sources and organising the data for easy consumption. The myth is that the ATS automatically rejects resumes. I will admit there may be a tiny grain of truth to this, but let me explain. Yes, recruiters can utilise the ATS in this manner, but most often it is through the use of "knockout questions" in the application or resume submission process, not based on some kind of AI. THE VAST, OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF RECRUITERS AND SOURCERS STILL LOOK AT EVERY SUBMISSION. YES, EVEN THE "REJECTED" DRAWER. So, if you want to know the best way to "beat" the ATS, it’s very simple... Only apply for jobs that you are qualified for, answer any application questions truthfully, and tailor your resume accordingly. #ats #jobapplication #keywords #hiring #resumemakeover

One of the biggest challenges faced by recruiters is the sheer volume of resumes they receive for a single job posting. LinkedIn and others make it very easy to apply. That's good. It eliminates the friction of getting your resume into the queue. It also results in some very large queues. It's common for a posted position to attract dozens, often hundreds, if not thousands, of resumes. With limited time and resources, it becomes impossible for recruiters to read each resume in detail, forcing them to skim through or use flawed keyword matching. It is unreasonable to expect recruiters to carefully evaluate every resume in the context of the job description for experience, potential, hard skills, soft skills, cultural fit, and red flags, scoring each area and creating feedback and suggestions for each. But if a recruiter had that information, imagine how much more effective they might be in focusing their efforts on those candidates most likely to be a good fit for the position. I'm getting ready to release a generative AI empowered system that will do just that. And as a bonus, it will draft a call screen script for the job description. All at a very affordable price. Watch for the coming announcement and get in on a free trial. #recruiters #resumes #applicationreview
