There’s a deep sense of fulfillment that comes from seeing their efforts and their hospitality directly contribute to the school’s success. It strengthens their connection to the school and its community, and reinforces their purpose as the institutions highest form of volunteer. When you do something meaningful for an organization you care about, it’s more than just duty—it’s a source of pride and personal joy. That’s the true reward of leadership. What have you asked your board members to do this fall?

SYL SPOTLIGHT: Keenan Davreux Why did you join SYL? Nowhere else can you test run your leadership skills, work alongside like minded individuals within the Saskatchewan Credit Union System, and develop a whole different skill-set from what your day-to-day job looks like. Although there are days where I do feel overwhelmed by the workload of managing my full-time job alongside my SYL responsibilities, I have nothing but praises to sing for my SYL journey thus far. I’ve made some long-time professional friends and everything I’ve learned has benefited me greatly. What are you most proud of so far in your SYL journey? I can break down my proudest moments by each year: First Year - Organizing two amazing Development Day events that, to this day, I still think about Second Year - Pulling together a leadership conference (SYL Retreat) within a 5 month period and executing on an event that had ZERO hiccups Final Year - TBD (stay tuned)
