Nick Romeo Romeo joined us at our 2nd annual EO Equity Summit to share takeaways from his book The Alternative: How to Build a Just Economy. As discussed during this session, “jobs are more than a source of income. They are a source of esteem, community, and ownership.” Read more about his talk and the summit highlights on our website: https://ow.ly/zppV50SBM4l #EOEquitySummit #ProjectEquity #employeeownership

The Dark Side of Private Equity: What’s Really at Stake Private equity has become synonymous with profit—often at any cost. While it can bring capital and growth opportunities, the darker side of private equity is impossible to ignore. Too often, private equity firms prioritize short-term gains over long-term stability, leading to devastating consequences for employees, communities, and even the companies themselves. Jobs are slashed, benefits are cut, and once-thriving businesses are stripped down and left hollow—all in the name of maximizing returns for a select few. It’s a model that sacrifices people for profit, and the human cost is staggering. We’ve seen it time and again: businesses gutted, livelihoods destroyed, and communities left to pick up the pieces. It’s time to rethink the impact of private equity. Profit shouldn’t come at the expense of people. We need a new approach—one that values sustainable growth, ethical leadership, and the well-being of all stakeholders, not just the wealthy few. #PrivateEquity #EthicalLeadership #SustainableBusiness #PeopleOverProfit #WorkplaceWellbeing

Just stumbled upon an intriguing concept in the investment world: Micro-Private Equity (Micro-PE). It's fascinating to see how this niche is carving out its own space in the broader PE landscape. For those unfamiliar, Micro-PE firms typically invest in smaller companies, often overlooked by larger PE funds. This allows them to focus on truly transformative strategies for these businesses. What's particularly exciting is the potential of Micro-PE in sectors like IT-Service, where smaller, agile companies are often ripe for growth but may lack the resources or guidance to scale effectively. At IT Capital Partners, while our focus is broader, I see parallels in our approach. We are all about unlocking untapped potential and providing not only financial support, but also operational support and strategic advice to help these companies grow. Micro-PE's emergence underscores the diverse and dynamic nature of the investment landscape. It's a reminder of the limitless possibilities that thoughtful and targeted investment can unlock, especially in sectors brimming with innovation and growth potential like IT-Service. #privateequity #growth #itservices

The Foundation's intentional investment strategy was developed by our Investment Committee and will be implemented by our Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO), Bivium Westfuller. Through sustainable investing, we will encourage publicly traded companies to end practices that harm communities of color and adopt practices that promote racial justice through shareholder pressure — for example, by disclosing employment statistics on the racial makeup of their workforce or conducting racial equity audits across their organization. The strategy will also allow the Foundation to avoid exposure to public companies whose business practices or products do not align with our mission. #SustainableInvesting #RacialJustice #MissionAlignedInvesting
