At the start of a new year, it's an ideal opportunity for self-reflection and an honest evaluation of your career and work life. This is a crucial time to identify both your strengths and potential missteps that might be hindering your professional development. Common areas where professionals may falter include strategic planning, networking, negotiating salaries, asking the right questions during interviews, creating positive first impressions, and taking responsibility for mistakes. #2024goals #2024vision #selfawareness #receuitment #hiring #apeirontalents https://lnkd.in/gMJBBgWP

After Receiving A Job Promotion, You'd Be Surprised What Happens Next Jack Kelly Forbes One of the top goals of employees is to get a promotion. Being promoted offers a higher corporate title, enhanced compensation, respect from your peers and the acknowledgment of doing a great job and exceeding expectations. You would think that a promoted person would be happy to stay and grow within the company. However, recent data from the ADP Research Institute shows that within a month after receiving their first promotion, 29% of people leave their jobs. When someone gets their first promotion, although the recognition increases their commitment to their employer, it only lasts for a short time. Counterintuitively, promotions increase the risk of a person departing by two-thirds, according to the ADP survey that analyzed the job histories of more than 1.2 million people in the United States. Additionally, the boost in confidence, due to the promotion, emboldens the recipient to seek out other jobs with the mindset that they can earn even more money elsewhere and climb higher at the new organization... https://lnkd.in/dA3mNsyQ

Why is it that the narrative is still being pushed that no one wants to work? Why are employers still posting "dummy" job postings when there is no actual position? Why are employers hiring for a representative "trainee" position and yet still want 3-5 years' experience for said position? Why do recruiters get on LinkedIn and post that they want prospects to email them and then they just ghost them? In this economy, why is $15 per hour listed as competitive? Why is it that one can apply for a position and then be denied within an hour? Tweak your resume they say. Mold your resume to the position they say. When that doesn't work, what's left? Progressive (can't see past a STAR method), Liberty Mutual, All State, National General, Sedgwick, Chubb Insurance (active recruiter on here and never responds) Travelers, The Hartford, Zurich, State Farm, PMA Companies (still posting dummy positions) Gallagher Bassett (bait is switch is the name of your game) Truist, Prudential, Nationwide; shame on you all for having the very lack of empathy you expect your employees to have. Shame on you all for your careless and unreasonably lengthy hiring processes. Shame on you all for not treating prospects or applicants with human decency and may you never be on the receiving end of the energy you put out. Dishonorable mentions: UnitedHealth Group, Florida Blue, Carenet, Conduent; for the simple fact that you refuse to pay your employees or prospective employees a livable wage under the guise of, "we simply can't." Why take the time to do this? Well, because as I sat here burned out, broken, and broke I started contemplating unaliving myself. Why, you ask again? When you feel like your back is against the wall with no way to make a way you start to, in the words of Mama Odie, "dig a little deeper," than ever and find the strength to go on. I'm sending strength, patience, and endurance to everyone weathering the storms of life right now. We've got this!
