The best part of my internship with Michael kors has been the opportunity to work with a designer brand that many people love. The quality of product and connection people have towards the bags or shoes is just so beautiful beasue many loyal costumers will come in saying "they only buy Michael kors bags", or "I'm always coming in every now and then to buy the new bags" I think is so fun and cute to hear that they buy lots of bags in different colors or sizes especially because they will say that there previous bags aren't bad or anything they actually last forever but they just want the bags cause they love the brand. 1 thing I have really learned at my internship was trying to give the best customer service you can, espescially at my internship I have to adjust to helping a costumer so they feel like they are being understood. I have had to speak Spanish to help customers who don't speak English at all or helping customers order on our online store for an item that cannot be found in store stuff like that really helped me for times I would have to do it again with another customer so just every experience builds off another. Here’s something that I wanted to tell my fellow juniors and design students who are looking for internships as part of the college curriculum or otherwise- Please refrain from working with designers/brands who hire unpaid interns and offer industry exposure in return. The same applies for Graduation Project Interns. This is ridiculous and has led to an exploitative behaviour in the fashion industry. If we continue to keep taking up such opportunities just for the sake of a brand name, we’re the ones who are encouraging it. #internships

At Bond Bakery Brands we have a Sales & Marketing intern starting with us in a few short weeks! During the interview, one of my questions is what each candidate was looking for in an internship. When I started my career, I had both wonderful and less than great internship experiences, and I want to make sure that we can not only deliver, but surpass their expectations of a summer role.   To no surprise, there were some common answers: 👨🎓 Mentorship: they want to learn and know they have a manager or leader in their corner 💪 Projects they can own: The candidates we spoke to do not want to sit on the sidelines, they want to sink their teeth into exciting projects that will push them to grow ❓ A culture filled with questions and curiosity: they do not want to be intimidated to ask questions!   Anyone have great internship experiences? Dear students, When applying for internships or job opportunities, it's important to follow the instructions provided by the recruiter and reach out to them on the designated email address. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬: ▻ Ensures that your application reaches the correct recruiter. ▻ Even with many other applicants, your email is more likely to be noticed if sent to the designated address of the recruiter / the one mentioned in the job post. ▻ Ensures your application isn’t lost. ▻ If your application is relevant, you stand a better chance of receiving a call from the hiring person directly. ▻ Simplifies the process for both, you as well as the recruiter. ▻ If the position is filled, recruiters can revisit your mail application for other future openings that match your profile.
