And we were managing things in Excel spreadsheets. We were managing things in Wordmaps, Word, PowerPoint decks...we needed better connectivity. We needed to centralize our intake. Productboard came along, and we were able now to have a tool where we could bring everything into one place. A single source of truth for us was just a critical need. It was the only way we were going to be able to scale our product management effort...and enable our go-to-market teams." [Product Ops] is referred to as the product manager of product managers. In my view, it is about enabling people to work better...And as you scale an organization like Autodesk or any organization for that matter, when you have eight teams doing things eight different ways, it doesn't provide a consistent experience...And so product operations for me is about centralizing all of those efforts, giving product managers and engineers back their time to do product management and engineering work. And we take that heavy lift of centralizing intake, of prioritization, of communications, of roadmapping, and we're able to give them back their time." 🚀 Currently tuned into the #JustProduct2024 webinar organized by Product Masterclass, and it's been fantastic so far! 🚀 Just listened to James Hawkins' brilliant session on "Leading with Radical Transparency: Empowering Product Teams", and I can't agree more with this key point: "If you want your engineers to deliver, this is how their calendars should look like!"  (see picture) 🧑💻 The idea is simple—give engineers focus time by keeping meetings to the end of the day, and you'll see continuous, high-quality output. The stars are lining up. So here is a conference in Detroit where I live (#AgileAndBeyond), and the keynote speaker is Melissa Perri - one of the handful of people in the world who can talk about Modern Product Management. Immediately following, I will facilitate a workshop on FAST, where attendees will experience FAST in a simulation and learn what it is—along with how it can work in one of two modes: feature factory mode and Modern Product Management mode (and why you want to get to Modern Product Management mode). Then, a lunch break. Immediately after lunch is a session on FAST from the Trenches where attendees hear firsthand about an experiment that Mike Vitale will be sharing.
