This September, we honor and celebrate the resilience of those on their journey to recovery from substance use, acknowledging the challenges they've overcome along the way. At Procure Impact, we are committed to supporting this community every day by partnering with social enterprises that invest in individuals striving for an addiction-free life. Helping to bridge the gap between sobriety and long-term success means employing those determined to conquer their battles with addiction. Many of the social enterprises featured in today’s post share this mission, providing job opportunities to these individuals. And we’d like to THANK YOU — UNSHATTERED, Seedy Nutty, Musee Bath, Wagon Coffee Roasters and many more — for the incredible work you’re doing on a daily basis to make a lasting impact on these individuals. 💗 #NationalRecoveryMonth #SocialEnterprise #ProcureImpact #Employment #SubstanceUseRecovery

Hopelessness is negatively impacting your city. Violence. Addiction. Depression. Anxiety. Suicide. Low workplace retention. School dropouts. All risky behaviors in youth. Sexual assault. The research is very clear. Hopelessness is a, if not THE, driving factor. Yet we all experience moments of hopelessness. Every day. It is how we manage those moments that matter. It's time to start a new conversation. About hopelessness. And, more importantly, about 'how' to hope. The business plan is done. The Hopeful Cities Playbook is written. I would love nothing more than to activate your city, and everyone in it, today. Reach out [email protected] to find out more. "Hope is a verb. Hope is about action." Edward M. We want you! Calling all Employers!! 😀 Join us in our mission to create a fairer society because together we are stronger 💪 Let’s talk social exclusion💭 Prisoners are often hit with the stigma that comes with having been an offender. The things many of us take for granted simply aren’t as available to them. The National Audit Office tells us 4 in 10 prisoners say they have mental or wellbeing issues. Prisoners are more likely to experience mental health problems than people in our communities, largely in part to social exclusion. Now stop 🛑 for 2 minutes, we’re asking you to just think how it would feel to be socially excluded, how would you feel not having access and rights like everybody else because you have a previous conviction………………………………………makes you think doesn’t it? 🤔 Let’s make a positive change and transform how excluded individuals are viewed by society by becoming more inclusive and fairer. Click the link and discover the transformational capabilities of building a diverse workforce, let’s speak: 🔈 https://lnkd.in/dFNdYj93

Social workers are on the front lines of many issues affecting Americans, including the opioid addiction crisis and income inequality. With a shortage of mental health care providers in IL, social workers are in high demand, and deserve support for the life-affirming work they do. Celebrate the social workers in your lives during #SWMonth2024 (and every month!) by showing your support. Find out how in this short video.

Calling all #LivedExperience practitioners and #PeerSupportWorkers. Anita Kumari and I are planning a series of workshops to explore the unique support that folks working in peer-based roles can offer people experiencing suicidal thoughts. We would love to hear from anyone who would like to take part and to hear which themes you would like our sessions to cover. so far, we are thinking of exploring: - how peer support values such as self-determination, mutuality, reciprocity, solidarity and equality relate to this topic. - the barriers to talking honestly and openly about suicide - ways to 'sit with distress' and have compassionate conversations - the role of story sharing that feels safe, boundaried and supportive - listening skills and 'meeting people where they are' - how to hold for others who may be feeling hopeless - how peers can support post-traumatic growth - the role of group support and mutual help - accessing support networks and opportunities for community resilience Please feel free to get in touch with us directly or add some comments to this thread. We’re looking forward to starting this conversation with you. #suicideprevention With-you Consultancy Ltd

Day 3 at The Reintegration Puzzle Conference. "Because today's incarcerated individual is tomorrow's neighbor." This quote reminds us of the critical connection between rehabilitation and community safety. For far too long, the narrative surrounding substance misuse has been "lock 'em up and throw away the key." But the reality is, most individuals eventually return to our communities. The question is, do we want them returning on a path of recovery or a path of repeated cycles? We need to demand more from our justice system. We must move away from a system that perpetuates harm and towards one that focuses on healing, rehabilitation, and positive reinforcement. Let's invest in programs that address the root causes of addiction, providing individuals with the tools they need to thrive. #rehabilitation #addictionrecovery #criminaljusticereform #RPC24 #reintegrationpuzzleconference #recoverycoach #addictionrecovery

Helping people in prison overcome obstacles on release. #AlexThinkingOutLoud is my LinkedIn Hashtag.
"...To be honest, if I didn't have the support network I have, I would have probably succumbed to the pressure to commit crime again to get by." We rarely need new ideas when it comes to quality support work. What we need is the financial investment, commitment, and wherewithal to maintain good ones. As the saying goes, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', I'd like to remix this to, 'if something delivers results, don't mothball it, or look for the next new shiny idea, invest in what's working.' Honestly, when it comes to preparing people for release, if everyone had these things listed below sorted, then I guarantee that the number of people recalled back to prison will dramatically decrease: 1️⃣ Frequent ad-hoc #informal #support from (ideally) family, significant others, or pro-social friends. Professionals can mimic aspects of this support, but not everything. E.g. you can't ring your key worker in the middle of the night if you are having a wobble or feeling low, as they often work 9-5pm. 2️⃣ Safe, suitable, and subsidised #accommodation on release with at least 6 months runway before needing to contribute financially to the cost of renting. 3️⃣ #Time and space to adjust rather than being deluged with meetings, appointments, and things one is required to do. 4️⃣ #employmentsupport #educational pursuits, or sometimes meaningful ways to spend one's time. This counteracts the feeling of boredom and being rudderless in regard to one's purpose. 5️⃣ Timely #health and #addiction #recovery interventions. Imagine if everyone could access mental health support upon release if they needed it or a place at a rehab facility. What do you think? #AlexThinkingOutLoud #HMPPS #prison #MOJ #rehabilitation #probation #criminaljustice #jail #criminology #youthwork #socialwork #employmentsupport

Alexander Rose 👀 1️⃣ Frequent ad-hoc hashtag #support from (ideally) family, significant others, or pro-social friends. Professionals can mimic aspects of this support, but not everything. E.g. you can't ring your key worker in the middle of the night if you are having a wobble or feeling low, as they often work 9-5pm. 1.1 NA,CA,AA all offer a network of support that people can phone in times of trouble well gone beyond 5pm. 2️⃣ Safe, suitable, and subsidised hashtag #accommodation on release with at least 6 months runway before needing to contribute financially to the cost of renting. 2.2 Are you serious 🕵️♂️ if having already engaged with treatment services and skilled the first thing people should be doing is earning to pay their way, I couldn't wait to start work the first Monday out after being released on the Friday and getting my my first wage 💁♂️ 3️⃣ hashtag #Time and space to adjust rather than being deluged with meetings, appointments, and things one is required to do. No mate straight in to appointments and meetings structure is very important where is your knowledge and information from where did you collect your data, if kits from those in the prison estates errm they are there because they couldn't function in society and couldn't make the best decisions for them self before incarceration so what would make you think they would know what was best for them, they don't that's why they need structure. 4️⃣ hashtag #employmentsupport hashtag #educational pursuits, or sometimes meaningful ways to spend one's time. This counteracts the feeling of boredom and being rudderless in regard to one's purpose. Errm, I have been posting about this for the last 5 years, without structure and a daily routine between treatment training & employment they will relapse and will re offend , that is fact, is that what you gasping to talk about, Treatment Training & Employment just remember I coined that along with substance offenders and trauma offenders 🎖 5️⃣ Timely hashtag #health and hashtag #addiction hashtag #recovery interventions. Imagine if everyone could access mental health support upon release if they needed it or a place at a rehab facility. Treatment Training & Employment, all of the knowledge is in my scrambled brain all their just waiting for me to unleash the brilliance of rehabilitation my combined residential rehabs, in my residential rehab near Brixton Clapham North, next to the big houses, all the resedents were all from upper class back grounds, Carlos from Dalston a street robber when I was 14 he was about 25-30, I remember he punshed up another man in my house when I was a kid, my house was a crack house all the local street smokers, anyway Carlos was there at that same rehab he when to college to uni and became a drugs councilor the same as the other 2 from the streets all the rest didn't they were from big money. The population that we serve are victims of domestic and sexual violence, homelessness, substance addiction, and human trafficking. We collaborate with agencies offering rescue, shelter, addiction recovery, and emotional counseling for women in crisis. Once the client receives rescue, residence, and recovery, they are ready to work with UNSHAKEABLE. We then take it a step further, offering workforce integration support to ensure financial independence and mitigate the risk of returning to past traumatic circumstances. Our clients first attend our “I AM” Series, designed to inspire women to acknowledge their self-sufficiency and the capacity to shape their futures. After completing the series, our clients are paired with a team member for individualized Career Coaching, where they learn valuable skills and experiences to help them find their perfect career. From there, many of our clients are paired with companies in our Business Alliance Program. Interested in learning more?
