Pursuing entrepreneurship and business development can indeed lead to opportunities in starting and managing businesses. The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program, which supports African entrepreneurs, serves as a valuable case study for TVET institutions looking to enhance their entrepreneurship and business development programs. Here's how TVET institutions can draw lessons from the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program: 1. Entrepreneurship Training: The program likely offers comprehensive training in entrepreneurship, covering topics such as business planning, marketing, finance, and operations. TVET institutions can incorporate similar training into their programs to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to start and manage businesses. 2. Mentorship and Networking: The program may provide entrepreneurs with mentorship and networking opportunities, allowing them to learn from experienced business professionals and connect with other entrepreneurs. TVET institutions can facilitate similar mentorship and networking opportunities for their students to help them build valuable relationships in the business world. 3. Access to Funding: The program may offer funding and financial support to entrepreneurs to help them start and grow their businesses. TVET institutions can explore ways to provide students with access to funding opportunities and financial resources to support their entrepreneurial ventures. 4. Business Incubation: The program may offer business incubation services, providing entrepreneurs with access to office space, equipment, and other resources to help them launch and grow their businesses. TVET institutions can consider establishing business incubators or partnerships with existing incubation programs to support student entrepreneurs. 5. Continuous Support: The program likely provides continuous support to entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the challenges of starting and running a business. TVET institutions can offer ongoing support and guidance to student entrepreneurs, even after they graduate, to help them succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavors. By drawing lessons from the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program, TVET institutions can enhance their entrepreneurship and business development programs and better prepare students for successful careers as entrepreneurs and business owners. https://lnkd.in/dMAS4BzE

Immensely greatful to the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford for creating the space for innovation, social impact and systemic change. A shoutout to Elizaveta Belkina and Maryam Pasha for filling rooms with passion and helping us shape the world through stories. Nelson Mandela once said, "A winner is a dreamer who never gives up." But winners also need champions. Women, especially, have often faced a lack of support in pursuing their dreams therefore communities are needed now more than ever. So my question to you is not wether or not you have dreams, I know you do. My question is, are you willing to become role models, volunteers and mentors? Are you willing to make contributions that turn dreams into reality? Are you willing to start today? I hope your answer is yes and I ask that you consider this your opportunity to support leaders become leader-boosters.
