A majority of the support received by newcomers in recovery is given completely on a volunteer basis by dedicated individuals in the rooms of recovery fellowships. Service work creates volunteers who are dedicated to their own sobriety and to the sobriety of others. We would be remiss not to recognize and thank both these individuals IN recovery, and ALL those who help us at Fellowship Hall through our many events. From our Walk for Recovery, to the Golf Tournament, to the Conference—we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you all. Thank you to ALL volunteers! Looking for a way to get on the path to recovery? We’re here to help. 👇🏽 Insight into Leeds Community Foundation and the impact grants make across Leeds to communities. Really powerful to read about what drives businesses to be involved with the Foundation. Esther Venning from Hill Dickinson LLP (Leeds) “… we’re helping so many worthy causes right across the region. Particularly those that often struggle to otherwise be seen… the more the business community supports Leeds Community Foundation the greater the impact they can achieve across the city…” #leeds #charity #crs #socialimpact #supportlocal https://lnkd.in/e-iFJSYk

Have you heard of The Thingery? This is very cool. A share-reuse-repair effort in Canada, which is an important aspect of the #CircularEconomy. "A Thingery is a #community supported equipment-lending library in a modified storage space. Each Thingery site becomes a #share, #reuse, and #repair hub for the community it serves. We do this by pooling #donated equipment, offering repair #workshops, and facilitating the #lending of equipment." https://thethingery.com/ ♻ 🌎 ⤵ #Collaboration #ShareReuseRepair #Circularity #Local #LendingLibrary #Makerspace #MendingIsTheNewSpending #TheThingery

The name Children's Legacy Partnership is always a mouthful! Back when I started the foundation finding a name that conveyed our vision was challenging. I wanted it to be short but it was hard to find a name that wasn't taken. After a lot of brainstorming the name grew out of what we hoped to accomplish. We are overjoyed to share the incredible news that, collectively, we have raised an outstanding 5 lacs over the past month Running for a Cause ! 🙌 This achievement is not just a testament to our generosity but also a celebration of the unity and camaraderie that defines our incredible community. What makes this accomplishment even more special for Molecular Connections is the fact that it brought us all together in a fun and engaging way. Our first health challenge of the year, part of the #CEOWellnessDrive, was not only about stepping up to the plate for a good cause but also about fostering a sense of togetherness and well-being. #MCiANs dedication to the challenge and enthusiastic participation have turned what could have been a simple fundraising initiative into a resounding success! It's not just about the funds; it's about the shared commitment to making difference and building an impactful community around us. All the proceeds from this remarkable endeavour are going directly to a blind school, illuminating the path for those who face unique challenges. We are not just meeting a financial goal; we are collectively creating opportunities and spreading hope. 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to each #MCiAN who contributed, shared, and supported this cause. Your kindness is the driving force behind the positive change we are bringing into the world. Let's continue this journey of compassion and unity, making the world a better place, one step at a time. Together, we are not just a community; we are a force for good #MCFAMILY <3 Catch the fun highlights from the finale run held on 1st Feb 2024: https://lnkd.in/geF39SqA #CommunityImpact #CharityMilestone #WellnessChallenge #TogetherWeCan #MakingADifference #CelebratingCompassion #GrowWithMC #TransformWithMC #csrinitiatives

Ep. 234 THE POWER OF COMMUNITY In addition to being part of speaking communities, we, as presenters belong to professional, social, charitable, faith-based, and other communities. Today Mark and Darren discuss the power of community, examining the ways that communities make us grow…and change. They offer advice on collaborating with your community, growing your community, and even leaving your community. Using Stage Time University, Toastmasters International, and the National Speakers Association as examples, they show benefits and blessings of being in community with like-minded people and reveal how community has helped them to prepare unforgettable presentations. SNIPPETS: • Community helps change perspective • Choose your community • Use your community • Serve your community • Build your community • Don’t be abused by your community, if you must leave, do so with grace • Protect your community • Don’t think NETWORKING; think NETSERVING • Is your community helping or harming you • Take inventory of your communities
