🚫 Avoid This Common Internship Pitfall! 🚫 One of the biggest mistakes to avoid as an intern is REPEATING the same errors. Yes, we are students—we are here to learn, and making mistakes is part of the journey. But repeating the same mistakes? That’s a no-go! Here’s a simple strategy I used last semester during my internship at Deloitte that earned me positive feedback and a wealth of knowledge: Ask for Clarification! If you're unsure about something or received feedback, don't hesitate to ask for detailed explanations. Understanding exactly what went wrong and how to fix it is crucial. Document Everything! Don’t rely on memory alone. Write down the mistakes and the correct steps to avoid them in the future. I used OneNote, which allowed me to organize notes into subfolders for different projects. This method helped me tremendously in keeping track of my progress and learning from past experiences. Find a system that works for you! Review Your Notes! Before submitting work, always revisit your notes to ensure you're not making the same mistakes again. Internships are a golden opportunity to learn and grow. Hi all, As I navigate through my internship at EY, I wanted to share a quick update on my journey so far. It's been an incredible learning curve, diving deep into client work, which has given me a real taste of the impact and reach of professional services. I've been honing my analytical skills, spending significant time with Excel, and it's amazing how powerful this tool can be in the hands of those who know how to wield it. From data analysis to financial modeling, Excel has become an indispensable part of my daily work. One of the highlights has been collaborating with a talented group of peers on a sustainability challenge. It's inspiring to contribute to a project that not only tests our problem-solving skills but also has the potential to make a real difference in our approach to environmental responsibility.
