"Demography is destiny": An insightful, honest, realistic, invigorating discussion about the critical importance of social innovators and how public-private partnerships should support and amplify them! Bravo for your vision and action! I wish I could see some of this happening in Romania! This is directly relevant for educating and integrating our brown Roma population. But the need is also acute and potentially much more impactful if businesses started to address ageism and look for viable solutions for the +50 who are now starting to exit employment from multinationals or will be negatively affected by the green transition and are at a high risk of becoming underutilized, underpaid and likely to face strong headwinds and hard life adjustments within the next 10 years. Beyond medical care, what are those conditions that influence people's wellbeing whilst working & past employment, as they age, and how could these be improved? Social innovation is defined as: bold, audacious solutions to solving complex social and environmental challenges or the blurring of sectorial boundaries whereby state, markets and the civil society come together to create new and shared public value. Talent is equally distributed but opportunity is not and in succeeding to lead social innovation Cheryl Dorsey speaks about 4 critical ingredients: 1. Proximity - you can only truly learn something from being in a place; you can truly understand the issue if this is where you come from. We can sense, "smell", profoundly understand someone who comes from the same environment as we do. Then we know it in our gut; we gain insight and intuition into people are the issues they are confronted with. Social impact can best be implemented in a context, in a place. 2. Porousness - we need social innovation in order to break-down silos. Education has an impact on criminality; the external environment defines social norms; everything is connected- we need to look at impacting an entire eco-system, not just a single area. 3. Pride - will lead social innovation; you care about where you come from so place-based social innovation is logical 4. Purpose - see what is possible and what others have not seen yet The 2023 Trust barometer identifies businesses as the most trusted actor in solving societal issues. This generates a tremendous responsibility for businesses to become a mechanism of change. As change moves at the speed of trust, businesses are clearly best placed to support social innovation. Social change is difficult to scale because of the complexity of the issues being addressed and also the inputs and headwinds are very different and much stronger than for regular business products: we are talking about no returns, marginalized individuals, complex social matters with no obvious, immediate benefits in terms of profits. Social innovation is hard to scale. Blended capital is seen by Echoing Green as the most viable solution for driving social innovation.

I love meeting leaders, especially people like Raki McGregor, MBA. A combo of big heart & bias for action. Raki shares his diverse music playlist and discusses his background and upbringing in New Jersey. He emphasizes the importance of digital equity and how Novant Health is working to provide access to technology and innovation in underrepresented communities. Raki also highlights the focus on community growth and the efforts to address the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities. Takeaways- Digital equity is about providing access to technology and innovation in underrepresented communities. Community growth involves addressing the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities and providing resources for education, employment, and healthcare. Resilience comes from facing challenges and being given a second chance. Remaining authentic and true to one's values is crucial, especially in challenging environments.

We're excited to launch The Circle of Actions, a seven-month learning opportunity for communities to develop plans and interventions to tackle the crises of loneliness, rising polarization, disconnection, and growing social and economic inequities. We approach this work with curiosity and intentionality. Some of the questions that we're holding include: 💫 Who do we choose to be amidst uncertainty and disconnection between ourselves and our neighbours? 🌱 How can we build more equitable, inclusive, and connected communities for all living beings? 💖 What does it take to build resilient, place-based, multi-sectoral collaboratives that cultivate a strong sense of belonging reported by everyone in our communities? 💪 How are our communities already fostering belonging, and what conditions are needed to amplify and sustain this? 🔭 How can we create next-generation social infrastructure that is rooted in our collective gifts and creates a strong sense of shared purpose? The deadline to apply is February 29. Homemade cookies and table cloths. When we co-facilitate it’s all about tone. We sometimes support teams to have difficult conversations about race, equity, and environmental justice. And we know that in order to disrupt systems of oppression, we have to create containers that can hold complexity, grief, power dynamics, and interpersonal collaboration differences. As our systems unravel and calibrate towards liberation, we want to hold the groups we support with grace and care. As facilitators we are doulas for group growth. What would happen if you framed your #facilitation practice as community growth?

The word “community” has two definitions: 1️⃣ A group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common 2️⃣ A feeling of fellowship with others as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals What are ways community association managers bring both definitions to life for their communities and boards? 👇 #GetInCINC #RedefineCommunity

🌟 Introducing the Community Weaving Framework: Building Healthy Communities Together 🌍 We are thrilled to share the new #Community #Weaving #Framework, the result of a multi-year learning journey with community weavers from around the globe. This project invites us to reimagine what community means in these times of transition and explore how we can weave #healthy #communities. Quoting the authors, at its core, community is a web of #mutual #care around a shared possibility. The essence of community lies in relationships of care, kinship, and mutual support. Community weaving reminds us that community is a living practice—a flourishing tapestry of reciprocity. The #Framework: 5 Elements for Weaving Community 🔥 The #Fire: The possibility that brings us together. 🕸️ The #Web: The relationships that hold us together. 🎵 The #Rhythm: The rituals that connect us. 🎭 The #Circles: The roles we can play. 🌀 The #Spiral: Our individual and collective journeys. Each element represents a different pattern and invites us to engage in meaningful conversation and connection. Getting Started: Weaving from the Inside Out 👉 Ignite an Energizing Fire: What’s a compelling story to bring everyone together? 👉 Weave a Committed Core: Who feels called to be part of your inner circle to tend to the community? 👉 Grow an Active Circle of Members: What are meaningful activities to engage the community in a healthy rhythm? 👉 Connect with a Larger Group of Friends: What are pathways for people to stay loosely in touch or participate more fully? 👉 Together, we can weave vibrant, healthy communities that nurture relationships of care and support. Let’s embrace this journey and create a tapestry of connection and possibility. 🌐❤️Learn more and download resources to activate and strengthen your communities, here: https://lnkd.in/ecHX-BrU Amazing work from @Erin Dixon Fabian Pfortmüller Michel Bachmann & Sita Magnuson #CommunityWeaving #HealthyCommunities #MutualCare #Kinship #CollectiveJourney #Reciprocity
