It has been fascinating to watch the summit grow from an idea that some considered ridiculous in 2019 to a virtual conference that provides an experience that is just as good as, and sometimes even better than, an in-person gathering. This is particularly true for EMS systems with limited budgets for travel and training but with the same requirements for expertise as larger organizations and sometimes even greater ones. With the global pandemic, what was once considered absurd has now become a "godsend" for many people who would not otherwise have the chance to attend one of these events in person.
