2000 Aston Martin Vantage Le Mans Coupé for sale #AstonMartin #Vantage #LeMans #ForSale #CollectorCar • Delivered new in Switzerland • Circa 13,000km on the odometer • Left-hand drive • Automatic transmission Brief History: According to the build record, the vehicle was built as a V550 Vantage Le Mans on 12th July 1999 and delivered following its V600 upgrade conversion on 20th June 2000. The vehicle was built to Swiss KPH specification. It is known that 40 ‘Le Mans’ specification V550 Vantages were produced, of these it is believed 33 cars were then converted to V600 specification by Works Service situated opposite the factory in Newport Pagnell. The chassis number 70241 on the chassis plate is the same as that listed on the build sheet. Chassis 70241 was originally finished in Aston Martin Racing Green and it displays this same colour today. The interior trim is listed as Tan A4482 leather with a Forest Green contrast piping. The seat centres and headlining were specified in Tan Alcantara 2351. The carpet colour is listed as Green 919 with Forest Green piping. The vehicle would have originally been built with a manual gearbox. It appears that the previous owner commissioned works to the vehicle around 2012 by Works Service which included an automatic gearbox conversion, modification of the dashboard top to accommodate a single DIN opening, and a 3rd rear brake light housed behind the rear window. The vehicle still retains these modifications today. The car was delivered new to Switzerland, and then was sold to the Emirate of Kuwait, where, according to the initials on the plates on the door sills of the car (NMS), its alleged owner was the former Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser M. Al-Sabah. In 2024, the car was taken to Aston Martin Works for commissioning and maintenance work. A complete list of works is available upon request. 2024 Vehicle recommissioning report conclusions from Aston Martin Works: “The vehicle as presented is an example of a rare Vantage Le Mans (1 of 40 produced) which was converted previously to V600 specification by Works Service in Newport Pagnell prior to delivery. The vehicle has then subsequently been converted to automatic by Works Service in circa 2012. The vehicle presents very well in its Aston Martin Racing Green shade and cosmetically is in outstanding condition – our recommendation to address small cosmetic areas will enhance this further. With the return of the vehicle to its correct Dymag wheels and recommissioning for road use again this will make a magnificent ‘Grand Touring’ Aston Martin in automatic configuration. 🏎️Enzo Ferrari was a man who believed in excellence and continuous improvement. He set the bar high for his engineers and did not tolerate mistakes, especially when it came to engineering. Instead of reprimanding his engineers for their mistakes, he created a Museum of Horrors, where he displayed all the broken car components through the years. By doing so, he made sure his engineers would not repeat the same mistakes. Enzo Ferrari believed that everyone had the responsibility to ensure the same mistake was not repeated. I find Enzo Ferrari's approach and mentality towards continuous improvement utterly captivating. Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd has hired Pedro Mota to lead the Americas region. I was fortunate to work along side Pedro while at Porsche Cars North America. He is the real deal, very intelligent, a gentleman with a highly developed EQ. Plenty of challenges for this iconic, long suffering brand, including its electrification strategy, transition from ICE (too soon??) and the current distribution strategy (new direction needed?). Previously leadership has been unable to restore the brand to its once proud, revered status in the ultra-luxury segment. We wish new CEO/Chairman Adrian Hallmark (leaving Bentley Motors), Pedro and their team great success in the new roles. Would love to witness a resurgent Aston Martin.
