What a week! Staying in the magical bubble of ChangeNOW and one could believe we are on track! Change maker's vibe is contagious, no one have the solution by himself to reverse the tendency however we can feel the tremendous energy an increase of the individual and collective actions : innovating, cooperating influencing, creating, educating. My favorite moment as a board member, the great roundtable with Paul Polman wonderfully moderated by Isabelle Grosmaitre. A few highlights: 👉 20% of the board members think their business is at risk ! 👉 Board composition makes a big difference. It has to be diverse (6 white guys from Netherlands and 6 white guys from the UK is not meant to be real diversity as Paul highlighted) 👉 Board members need to understand ESG 👉 Need to create time so that ESG topics are well understood, conversations are relevant for the sake of the company 👉 If you don't really believe in ESG better to step on the side and leave your seat to another board member What will it take to move the needle? It needs a lot of courage for all stakeholders to raise their voice and to question the current business model, what if? And talking about courage, amazing speech full of creativity from Timothée Parrique planning to create #theavengersofthesustainability ... Board members... Ready to take the challenge? It resonate so much with the initiative launched by Romain Mouton to dedicate within the Club de Giverny a committee to board members engaged in sustainability. I've spent a lot of time over the past few months trying to solve a puzzle 🧩: The energy inside of our Girls Club Collective community and events is absolutely *electric.* (I was reminded of this yesterday when, in spite of some frustrating technical difficulties on our side, 55 [!] AMAZING impact leaders and founders joined our community power hour.) And our members are experiencing *epic,* aligned wins this year. Wins like: 📘 Publishing a book 💼 Landing new dream roles 🎉 Securing 5-figure contracts 💗 Celebrating their love 🤩 Winning new business with Fortune 100 companies 🌴 Taking a 6-week honeymoon 🚀 Launching new products, services, reports, and white papers 💕 Filling up webinars 🎤 Being invited to speak 👯♀️ Making new IRL friends (with each other! the best!) ...I could go on! Not only that, but we're also having *really* juicy conversations inside the Collective on topics like future careers for today's #ESG leaders, what's making us optimistic about #climateaction, feminine leadership and how we show up for our teams, and so much more. But as a founder and community leader, I have been trying to figure out *how* to really paint the picture of *possibility* for prospective members, and to really give the GCC-curious among us a sense of the magic that is possible when you join us and lean all the way in. (It's real!)✨ Today, I'm really excited to share what we've created to close this gap. In the spirit of our leadership lab 🧪, we're offering, for the first time ever, a "relationship incubator + accelerator" that will meet on Friday mornings PT May 10, 17, and 24. It's designed to give you an experience of all 3 pillars of our feminine leadership framework for change agents: community + connection, embodied strategy, and visibility + amplification. I could go on and on about why I'm excited about this (I'm so excited!) and why I'm over the moon about the first 6 leaders who have already said YES. Our 2022 and 2023 reports captured the foundations of our Belonging journey, and this year we built on those pillars, committing ourselves to also focus on the impact our work has on the global kids’ content industry and environment. Real talk during #ClimateWeekNYC 🎤 How do we drive progress on #ESG issues within business? It starts with strong #governance. Niki King and Dirk Voeste shared some practical takeaways: 👉 Empower in-house experts with #technology that streamlines activities like research and trend analysis, enabling greater impact. 👉 Educate other teams by partnering them with #sustainability experts to foster cross-disciplinary understanding. 👉 Establish governance committees at various levels, integrating concrete objectives into the workflows of different teams. 👉 Leverage existing processes, such as enterprise #risk management, to elevate #ESG issues and widen the scope of potential risks and opportunities. There’s still much work to be done in education and governance, and that’s where #Datamaran will continue to make a difference.
