Flashy moment marketing can often be a misguided business strategy and it can also cross into tasteless territory. Take that recent ad (yes, that one) trying to capitalize on a serious issue for a quick win. Not cool. Then there’s this video that deserves our attention for the right reasons. A young girl aces her exams, but instead of applause, she’s dodging trolls. This should be a wake-up call! We need to flip the script. It's high time we question the ridiculous beauty and success standards imposed on women and girls. Let's push for real achievements, not shallow judgments. Sometimes, the smartest business move we can make is keeping our noses out of others' business!

Someone posted they don’t see the value in going to Blackhat. ————————————— 3 years ago I met Aaron C. Crow at Blackhat and we have become business advocates, partners, and friends. —————————————- Sure their is free food and drinks and lots of distractions here. —————————————- There’s also a lot of bad sales process and poorly executed conference tactics. —————————————- Everyday that I attend a conference I walk myself through this process to be successful: 1. What’s todays goal? 2. How do we measure success? 3. What actions need to happen for success? 4. Have fun 5. Document the day At the end of the day… What worked today? What didn’t? What needs to improve tomorrow?

First best practice for podcast hosts is to have a guest application form and then organize a pre-screening call beforehand. It always helps. Second best practice is to use a dedicated platform (like Podmatch) where it's very easy to vet potential guests and contact those that fit our audience the best.

All we can do is build a great foundation.

Something I value and am working on: As we head into the weekend, I encourage you meditate on which category you “think” you are in… and perhaps which category your team would say you are in. If you aren’t inviting your team to the table to contribute their skills, or better yet… creating safe spaces for your teams to do the work autonomously — you might resemble poor Narcissus forever staring in want of that person reflected back in the water. #leadership #mindfulness #teamwork
