Addressing pain management for IUD insertions and other procedures is long overdue - that's why PPLM added sedation options for IUD insertions & removals, LEEPs, and colposcopies in March. Fear and anxiety shouldn't prevent anyone from getting the health care they want or need. Read more at The Associated Press: https://lnkd.in/gfsHqHDZ

It's always important to raise awareness of #chronicpain. I wholeheartedly support this. However I read this and was curious about the focus (Full disclosure; I was also a committee member of this guideline). To give context: NICE has a hierarchy of recommendations from "Offer" where there is clear evidence of benefit, to "consider" where the evidence of benefit is less certain, to "Do not offer" where there is clear evidence that an intervention is not beneficial or may be harmful. The one and only treatment NICE guideline NG193 uses an "offer" recommendation for is supervised group exercise programmes (1.2.1 "Offer a supervised group exercise programme"), yet activity or exercise is barely mentioned in this piece. NG193 says to "consider" psychological therapies (1.2.3 "Consider ACT or CBT") which is different from an outright recommendation. I've noticed activity and exercise being missed out in other discussions about pain recently, hence I'm raising it here. Interested in others thoughts...

Illness medicine diagnoses and treats disease, while HOMeHOPe detects and corrects imbalances. A HOMeHOPe practitioner would not recommend a health optimization plan over an illness management plan. These “plans” are not mutually exclusive and work best when done in synergy, as having one’s foundational health addressed makes treating illnesses/conditions dramatically easier! ➡ Go to https://homehope.org if you're interested in becoming a health optimization practitioner to bolster your practice. #HOMeHOPe #HealthOptimization #IllnessMedicine
