20 years ago, Dan Adams walked through the doors for his first day of work at J-U-B. Since then, The Langdon Group has blossomed into an organization unlike any other! Through his guidance and vision, TLG has become an industry leader and continues to provide a unique service that helps our communities solve problems and implement solutions. The Langdon Group as we know it, is because of Dan. 🧡 Give him a big pat on the back if you see him, but not too big . . . these 20 years have taken their toll! Congratulations on your 20-year anniversary! 🥳 🧡 What do you enjoy most about your role at TLG? I am really enjoying being a discipline lead and supporting the team. It is fun to have the years of experience I do at this point and to be able to leverage my network and connections to help J-U-B folks work with challenging clients, agencies, and tough issues. We are working on some of the gnarliest natural resource, infrastructure, and public policy issues of the western United States and that is really fun. 🧡 What advice would you give to someone who is just starting in your role or department? Be continually curious. Develop relationships. Deeply care about the needs and interests of those you serve. Be fearless and take any assignment that comes your way and seek to add value. Be humble. Be patient. Have an outward mindset and don’t waste time ruminating. 🧡 Can you share a recent accomplishment or success story from your work?  I had a goal for a couple of years to write a peer reviewed article and get published. Last year I co-wrote a paper on ‘wicked problem solving’ with a key stakeholder from one of the biggest issues we are working on, and we got published. It was really fun and made me think. 🧡 What are some of your favorite hobbies or activities outside of work?  Braiding rawhide for traditional horse/tack. Horseback riding/roping. Competitively shoot in the Precision Rifle Series. Upland bird hunting (time with my dogs). Road biking. Fly tying and fly fishing. Smoking brisket. Playing with my grandson. As a group (in #seismic), it has been a thoroughly engulfing journey, thus far... and still going strong 💪. In current times, with all the #support you have from your family, freinds and colleagues, #retrospection is an affordable luxury - and upon connecting the dots, I feel (...well, what's the word.... I will go with...) #emotional. Something terrible had happened in my family in 2017 and then covid happened to all of us in 2019 - and through all those phases (tough, to say the least), #lookingahead was difficult. At times, it certainly felt that there was no light at the end of the tunnel. But, to have Atlanta Sen in my life as my (life-)partner certainly meant #hope. (P.S. There you go...that's the first tag). And a genuine non-stop source of #hope she has been. And I was lucky to have a few more of #support, #love, #value, #connection and a brilliant #team. I will never forget the day when I first walked on the #fugropioneer and met the amazing team onboard. And the rest since then, as they say, is history. Celebrating is in our DNA at TPN, and this month we're marking the second work anniversary of COO Mark Johnson, who came to us when we merged with Evia in 2023. Anniversaries put people in a reflective mood, so we asked Mark to answer a few questions: The best part of my job at TPN? "Getting the chance to drive company strategy around our sales and servicing of technology for our customers." The worst part? "My distance from the lines of business outside of event technology. We are an incredible production agency, and there is so much that I have to learn about that side of the business. In our jobs, we are constantly prioritizing our focus, and sometimes we miss out on very cool things as a result. It’s a good problem to have." My first live event? "I was attending a play with my mom and sister and the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, MN. It was important to my mom that I be exposed to some culture other than that of the small mining community where I grew up. I remember being absolutely mesmerized by the scale of the place. It was unlike anything I had ever seen as a small-town kid from the far northern reaches of my state, and it impacted me greatly." Passions outside of work? "When I am not working, I spend my time engaged in the lives of my daughters. Much to my dismay, they are already 11 and 13 years old and I don’t want to miss a moment.
