Superb innovative work from Normandie Tourisme to bring in cheaper tickets for visitors who arrive at attractions here in the region on low carbon transportation (Buses, Trains, Foot and by Bike) Innovation must be applauded. It must also be stretched to be truly impactful and effective. But I am left wondering if this is far enough and another step of innovation is needed?........ What if it was based on the last two forms of transport the client used? Would the decarbonisation picture look the same? Could electric and hydrogen cars be included? They are low carbon? The decarbonisation of Ferries and Planes per PAX too difficult to tackle? I think state and regional subsidies of these high carbon intensity services makes that a step too far? Compared to the same month last year, we've seen robust #jetcharter growth, showcasing a resilient and adaptive #bizav landscape as we progress into 2024. Another driver of demand is the countless strikes announced and held by airlines and airports at short notice. Fortunately, #businessaviation is not affected by this. 🚄Having just returned from our holiday to Florence by train from England I have been reflecting on how successful my travel plans were??? Just like anyone travelling by train (12 in total…journeys don’t always go to plan) it was exhausting but lots worked yet I feel that there were some things I would have done differently. Success: prior assistance in 🇬🇧🇫🇷🇨🇭🇮🇹 Difficulties: Unable to contact Sala Blu Milan to Florence prior to travel but space was made on the train Recommend: Asking for advice from #seat61 Rebooking seat After booking your ticket this end you end up with your seat reservation. When booking assistance make sure this is changed to a wheelchair seat on the train. Because of the ability to walk to the seat & having collapsible wheelchairs I didn’t always ensure this was the case. It would appear that all wheelchair seating & companion are seated in business & 1st class travel when in Europe.
