Caregiving is a growing concern for many families in the U.S. In our new survey, 76% of caregivers said being a caregiver has impacted their stress, while 67% said it's impacted their personal finances. Alf supply all players lists in need-family care givers,poor disabled who need care and primarily women who are fronting the bill or single and working to death to provide for disabled parents and the aging soon to be in need. Particularly interesting are states like Florida where demographics choose and hope to find help ,placement and compassion. Overworked and underpaid staff are also the sad and sometimes implicated in hundreds if not thousands of abuse files in the well known unaccountable grey areas. Help at square one in the means of grants ,monetary awards and better accountability is the multi- phase intervention. I might start with periods and signers for relief and hope to gain a grant to promote awareness. Thank you Melissa for highlighting at Pivotal- aptly named for the academic you are. I have a great company innovating in this space but sadly, we are not coming across any investors who are willing to write checks at the pre-seed stage to help companies get off the ground. I think we will struggle to get solutions that truly make an impact if more investors don’t fund early stage care innovators. Would love to see a pre-seed carve out at Pivotal Ventures to help with this!

1moCompletely agree. Were excited about a solution to impact care recipients and caregivers, allowing caregivers to maintain employment (and sanity) and recipients to remain in the home and community. And it engages volunteers, businesses, faith community and community at-large. Caregiving issues are everyone’s responsibilities as well all need care or will care for another person at some point.
