Today we’re heading into the archives and looking back on our work with Mona - Museum of Old and New Art. We worked with Mona during the planning, construction and operation of Siloam, a subterranean expansion of the museum. The project involved complexity both above and below ground. Our team provided mining geotechnical and structural engineering services for the below ground structures which involved the construction of a 39 m long tunnel and two underground chambers. History of Geotechnical Engineering: Its Evolution| Pre-Classical, Classical & Modern Soil Mechanics This Lecture 103 in series of my YouTube Channel “Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy Tips” describes and tells us about History of Geotechnical Engineering: It’s Evolution till date in detail and at length including Pre-Classical, Classical (Phase I & II) and Modern Soil Mechanics spanning a period from 1700 – 1927 as defined by Skempton in 1985 and afterwards talking about almost all notable works of the greatest of all times Soil Researchers & Scientists and their Theories with images/pictures of them and as well how all of it began prior to 18th Century and at/before 2000 BCE mentioning also about Hanging Gardens of Babylon, The Pyramids at Giza, The Leaning Tower of Pisa, the foundations of Taj Mahal, Agra and even Burj Khalifa, Dubai and also a little bit about Liquefaction and Earthquake induced Liquefaction covering a very important point of Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering as well. #geotechnicalengineeringconsultancytips #anuragkapoor #geotechnicalengineering #historyofgeotechnicalengineering #historyofsoilmechanics #Coulomb #Rankine #Mohr #Darcy #Boussinesq #Atterberg #ResalandBell #Fellenius #KarlvonTerzaghi #Casagrande #Peck https://lnkd.in/dX5fDuWZ

The first piece of heavy equipment used in construction was likely the crane, dating back to ancient times. 🏗️ The earliest cranes were invented by the Ancient Greeks in the late 6th century BC. These early cranes were simple machines made from wood, using ropes and pulleys, and they were primarily used for lifting heavy stones and other materials during the construction of buildings, temples, and other structures. 🏛️ This invention was a significant advancement in construction technology, allowing for the building of larger and more complex structures than was previously possible with just human or animal labor. #didyouknow #ancienttimes #heavyequipment #construction #firstcrane #woodencrane #greekcrane #invention #innovation #ancientgreece #todayilearned #conagmarketing
