A lovely piece of summer news has come in: Troldtekt has been nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2025 😎 The team behind it calls it Europe’s leading award for ecological and social engagement.   On 28 November 2024, pioneering companies from various sectors will be honoured with an award. Troldtekt has been nominated in the 'Bau und Immobilien' (construction and property) category.   The expert jury justified Troldtekt's nomination with the following:   💚 that our acoustic panels are Cradle to Cradle Certified® and contribute to leading building certifications.   💚 that all the wood in the acoustic panels is certified (FSC® C115450 and PEFC).   💚 that we show considerable engagement with annual CSR reports and environmental product declarations (EPDs).   💚 that we optimise the product life cycle to minimise its environmental impact.   The launch of acoustic panels based on the carbon-reduced cement type FUTURECEM™ is an example of the latter, and this particular solution won the German Sustainability Award 2023 in the Design category.   Read more about our nomination for the German Sustainability Award 2025 here: https://lnkd.in/eUfdVbgA Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis

We are thrilled to announce that our Upfield Food Science Centre in Wageningen has been certified as BREEAM-NL Outstanding - the highest level of sustainability certification for buildings. Achieving BREEAM Outstanding is an incredible feat - less than 1% of new commercial buildings qualify for this level. Out of 897 buildings assessed in the Netherlands, the Upfield Food Science Centre ranks in the top 7%. BREEAM evaluates buildings across all aspects of sustainability - from energy efficiency and waste reduction to health, social value, and biodiversity. Earning Outstanding recognises our Food Science Centre as being in the top tier globally for sustainable design and operation. We're proud to have partnered with Nelissen ingenieursbureau BV, Van Wijnen and Unica to construct an environmentally state-of-the-art facility powered by 100% renewable electricity. Initiatives like water-saving sanitation, optimal daylighting and rooftop biodiversity planting all contributed to the outstanding 88.49% score. The certification reflects Upfield's commitment to sustainability across our operations. As we develop the plant-based foods of the future, we aim to do so in facilities that minimise environmental impact.

EDPA, ESCA, and EIC Unveil Joint Guidance for Sustainable Exhibition Stand Construction! Thank you Exhibitor Group for sharing our guidelines for an sustainable exhibit future. The EDPA, ESCA, and EIC collaboratively developed groundbreaking sustainability guidance that has been explicitly tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by the various industry verticals served by the organizations’ members. The Guidance for Sustainable Exhibition Stand Construction (GSESC) ensures that EDPA, ESCA, and EIC member organizations have clear and actionable guidance to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible practices. Reduce 2 served as the technical writer for the initiative. 🌍 💪 Successful 2nd Kennedy Event on Circular Economy by Madaster Austria Last week, we had the privilege of hosting the 2nd Kennedy Event under the theme ‘Kreislaufwirtschaft. Möglich. Machen.’ The event, brought together about 40 participants from leading companies in the construction and real estate sectors. We delved into six exemplary projects showcasing the latest developments in circular economy. Topics included decarbonization, life cycle assessment, deconstruction, stranded assets, CRREM, certifications, EU taxonomy, and CSRD. Our event featured diverse perspectives and innovative approaches, including: 🌍 Circular Economy Vision by Sabine Rau-Oberhuber (Turntoo)  🌍 Global Perspective by Martijn Oostenrijk (Madaster) Implementation examples from over 50 Madaster projects provided insights from: • Ralf Aigner, Andreas Gramelhofer, Btian Paul Dorsam, Doruk Kepce (HNP architects), Markus Auinger (iC consulenten) on large project sustainability. • Vera Fischer and Michael Haugeneder (ATP sustain GmbH) on life cycle assessment. • Joerg Meiche (WICONA) on circular product data. • Klaus Sperka (Drees & Sommer Österreich) on Stranded Assets and CRREM. • Axel Laimer-Liedtke (Dietrich | Untertrifaller) on deconstructability. • Michael Modero and Martin Hörtinger (IG Immobilien) on the Guntramsdorf logistics hall. The event closed with updates on product development and the formation of next working groups by Anastasia Stephanie Wieser (Madaster Austria), followed by an engaging after-work gathering that fostered further discussions and networking.
