PIMCO’s Global Month of Volunteering (GMV) recurs each July with many opportunities across our offices to support local nonprofits and communities worldwide. While GMV allows us to collectively make a more meaningful impact, our continuous efforts are of steadfast importance to our work, teams and clients. A prime example of PIMCO’s community-minded culture is Managing Director John Kirkowski, who brings his private sector expertise and strong belief in aiding social progress to his philanthropic endeavors, especially in his role as an OneOC Board Member. John and OneOC’s partnership is rooted in a common goal – to provide the solutions and support that empower nonprofits and companies in their charitable services. With John’s lead, PIMCO colleagues have been able to demonstrate #SharedBonds through various volunteer initiatives, like the OneOC Community Cup and PIMCO Beach Cleanup events. As we launch #GMV2024, we celebrate leaders like John, who abundantly gives his time and resources to an organization advancing other nonprofits and empowers volunteers to share their time and talent with our communities.

This week is #volunteersweek and at Action West London we not only value volunteers that work with us but also encourage our clients to gain work experience through volunteering. Our chair of Trustees Tony Coyne recently talked about the importance of volunteering in local charities in his monthly blog post, here are some key points from that blog: 1. Local volunteers have a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges facing their community. This insight allows charities to tailor their services to address specific issues effectively. 2. When people come together to support a common cause, it fosters a sense of unity and purpose. Volunteering creates opportunities for individuals to form relationships and strengthen social networks, which can lead to more resilient communities. 3. Volunteering can empower individuals by providing them with a platform to use and develop their skills. This can boost self-esteem and contribute to personal growth, which in turn benefits the community as a whole. 4. Local community volunteers are more likely to stay committed to a cause over the long term, ensuring sustained support and impact for charities. Charities, localism, and community volunteering are all interlinked and play an important role in shaping strong, vibrant, and supportive communities. By working together, these components can create lasting positive change and enhance the well-being of individuals and families in the community. Social media & thought leadership for social impact | Founder & CEO @ Cause Fokus | Maryland 40 Under 40 | Empathy-based marketing
A CSR trend for 2024 that makes your organization look good, but also actually DOES good: ⬇️ Volunteering. For nonprofits, this is such a great way to establish and nurture a partnership with a corporation that aligns with your values. We've seen this year especially that people are ready to get out of their houses and out of the office! What better way to do this than to have your company volunteer in your community? Nonprofits, find a way to facilitate it for them. Become their go-to cause to champion. It might lead to incredible long-term opportunities down the road for both the company and the nonprofit. Think outside the box. CSR = Corporate Social Responsibility #NGO #Nonprofit #Volunteering #CSR

Collective forms of giving are growing across the world as the landscape of philanthropy shifts towards more collaborative practices, enabling power from within communities, rather than the 'top down approaches' of traditional philanthropy. Another great article the growth of giving circles, many of which are activated from within community foundations networks. https://lnkd.in/eVtn5mWj #givingcircles #collectivegiving #communityfoundations Philanthropy New Zealand
Giving circles are the fastest-growing form of philanthropy. What are they?

Volunteers’ Week 2024 is a time to celebrate and inspire. Over the years Englobe UK are proud of our previous efforts within the charitable sector adding to our overall year on year Social Value initiatives. We believe volunteering is a net positive for society and companies - a win-win on both sides of the table. The benefits of volunteering go far beyond the feel-good factor that it gives you. It’s an activity that can transform who you are at the core of your being, benefiting the communities in which we live, work and play. We look forward to supporting and encouraging our employees to use their extra day’s annual leave per year to volunteer their time. #VolunteersWeek #SocialValue #EnglobeUK #Englobe #ExcellentPeople #GreatPlaceTowork #ProudOfOurWork #Remediaion #RemediationContractor #SoilTreatmentFacilities #BrownfieldContracting #EnablingWorks #IntegratedEnvironmentalServices #InfrastructureProjects #CivilEngineering #HealthandSafety

Today is World Philanthropy Day… and just over a week until the holiday season of giving kicks off. Did you know that the Greek root of philanthropy can be literally translated as "loving people"? We can’t think of a better way to love people than making sure we plan for and invest into their future. WakeUP, like most nonprofits, is dependent on the generosity of donors that value our work and help us make a difference in the lives of residents across Wake County as we plan for tomorrow TODAY. Growth is happening across Wake County because this is an amazing place to live and we want to make sure that it stays that way for all people AND natural resources. We spend most of the year keeping you updated on all things sustainable planning across Wake County, but this time of year we will be asking for your help and support! Giving is easy as donations can be made on our website. All donations go to support our education and mobilization efforts as we aim to raise awareness and ensure community leaders, partners, and residents are informed on and actively engaged in sustainable planning practices that consider the impact on our residents and environment. Financial support is just one way to engage philanthropy, though. If you are passionate about affordable housing, eco-friendly transit, land use responsibility, and how growth impacts equity and the environment, check out our website for more ways to get involved and make a difference: 📝Sign up as a member 🧑🏾🤝🧑🏿Invite local friends to be members as well 🗓️Follow our Calendar of events 📢Advocate for these issues in your community Donate: https://buff.ly/3sspayy #WakeUpWakeCounty #Philanthropy #Give #Invite #Share #BRT #TransitOverlayDistrict #PublicTransit #Raleigh #WakeCounty #Equity #UrbanGrowth #ThrivingCommunities #Walkability #Mobility #Bikability #membership #Community
