The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (MD DHCD) recently concluded its Fall/Winter 2023 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) competitive funding round. The round received applications for $31.7 million in LIHTC, among other affordable housing finance programs spread across 11 counties and Baltimore City in Maryland. Eight proposals apply for "twinning" of 9% & 4% credits. This is when a developer leverages both 9% and 4% LIHTC to maximize the resources available for affordable housing development. The DHCD is conducting threshold reviews of the applications as of January 14, 2024, and will inform individual applicants if their submission is rejected. #assetmanagement #assetmanagementsoftware #asset #affordablehousing #propertymanagement #LIHTC #software #realestate #fusion

We keep seeing this same post, city by city. When and how are we going to redesign the eviction system and supports? This quote stood out the most for me: “The filings are a trailing indicator, not a leading indicator of displacement, which I think is really, really scary,” said Zach Neumann, eviction defense attorney and head of the Community Economic Defense Project. Yes! By the time a renter is at court it will most likely be a case of too little too late. The support systems (government, nonprofits) need to know sooner. #evictioncrisis #evictionprevention #affordablehousing #publicinterestlaw
“This year’s number of households facing eviction in court is higher than those of any year during the pandemic and even through the Great Recession and its recovery.” Via Denverite https://lnkd.in/g7EqPqfZ
