In order to raise funds in support of my effort, I am making an offer through my LinkedIn Network, that I hope many of you will see as a great deal. I spend a considerable amount of my work creating and delivering workshops on workplace and regulatory investigations. Obviously I receive financial compensation for these programs. My offer is that for a donation to this event on my behalf, equivalent to 65% of my normal fees, I will provide a one or two day program that is customized to your organization's needs. So here it is in an nut shell: ✅ You get the investigation training for your team ✅ You save 35% on the cost ✅ 100% of the money goes to support a great cause ✅ I am donating my time, so your fee goes directly to the foundation ✅ You get a charitable receipt for the donation (further savings) ✅ Everone wins!!! Leadership = Pies in the Face? I am cubmaster of my local cub scout pack. Each year we do a fundraiser (selling popcorn) to help offset the cost of activities. Last year, we struggled a bit to reach our goals and only had limited participation from the scouts. This year, we set a slightly higher goal and discussed incentives for the scouts. To encourage participation, we offered each den who achieved 100% participation in the fundraiser, no matter how limited their involvement, a free Slurpee. For our high achievers, each scout who sold more than $1,000 was given the opportunity to throw a pie either in my face, or the face of our committee chair. Last night, we revealed the results of our efforts, and I was blown away. We exceeded our sales goal by more than 25%, clearing over $31,000, which represented a year over year increase of 36%. We had two dens who had 100% participation, earning each member a free Slurpee, and overall participation across the pack increased from a dismal 30% last year to an incredible 70% this year. Let’s be clear, the boys did the work, and the boys reaped the rewards. I take nothing away from their efforts. The leaders set the goals, provided the motivation, and paved the road. So yes, sometimes leadership looks like a pie in the face.

Yes, we know Memorial Day is a day when many dealerships (including those all around us) have "BIG SALES", cookouts, games and parties. Well.... we do not. Why? In our family we were raised that days such as Memorial Day and Labor day are about something much bigger than car deals. Memorial Day is about remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice rather than a discount or savings. Do you agree? We have chosen to be CLOSED on Memorial Day despite the potential lost sales. #peopleoverprofit At our dealership if we (ownership) are not going to be at the dealership on a holiday then neither will our staff.
