If you have any question you would like to ask about mental health and suicide, what would that question be? We are building a survey that we will put out to the public to compare answers and see how close we are with our answers. We will be releasing the survey on Friday January 5th on the webpage: https://lnkd.in/dyG2Fc8s This will be a survey we ask that you take your time and really consider your answers. You do not have to answer all the questions and we will not share any of your information with others without your permission. We will not call anyone out for any answer but we will not share any statements that are hurtful or hateful. This is a survey for the purpose of assistance of those battling with mental issues and suicide ideation. This is a research and knowledge searching tool to share with others in efforts to find answers. There is no one answer. If there was, we would not have this problem. Not every question will be published, but we will consider every entry. Please help us make a difference by asking well thought out, educated, un-biased questions and let's "Come Together" to find answers to this problem affecting everyone.

Christmas is a magical time for many, and for others, and for charities like @OpenDoorCharity, it can be a challenging time where services are needed more than ever. This week, as part of #TheBigGive Christmas Challenge we are fundraising for OOMOO, our mental health support offer for Children Looked After who find themselves in care through no fault of their own and, most importantly, for their own safety.    OOMOO currently supports over 57% of all looked after children across Wirral, many of who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect, most at an early age. No child should be facing abuse or neglect, no child should be removed from their home for their safety, no child should need to access support like OOMOO but they do and we need to be there for them.   This week, our OOMOO children designed Christmas cards representing what Christmas meant to them. Unsurprisingly, they drew each other, pictured below. I am asking for my contacts to help ODC continue to support OOMOO children this Christmas. Our children won’t be asking for the latest gadget or designer clothes. They will be asking for a place where they feel safe. Today is officially #NationalCallAFriendDay. This day is typically reserved for reconnecting with someone you have lost touch with or someone you miss dearly. These are fantastic reasons to pick up the phone. However, there is another population of individuals who will benefit greatly from hearing your voice today. Did you know that about 1 in 4 American adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year, and one in 10 will suffer from a depressive illness? Mental health crises account for more than 60 million visits to primary care and 6 million ER visits annually. Will we continue to let these individuals go unnoticed? Pick up the phone today. Someone in your life is out there feeling alone. Someone is feeling incapable of overcoming their grief. It is highly unlikely this person will call you, but it is incredibly likely that the sound of your voice will change the outlook on their day. And, for these individuals, who are often living one day at a time, your call might be the difference maker they didn't know they needed. From all of us at the Honor Movement Foundation, we encourage you heed to the warning signs of those who might be in trouble. Day 4 of my 10 tips which have helped improve my mental health. Reducing my Alcohol intake. Another one where we know how helpful this can be but it's not always so easy in practice. 🍺 There are two ways which I like to do this. Firstly, over the last year I've really started to enjoy 0% beers. I find these are perfect for when I just want that 1 or 2 pint feeling in the midweek but get none of the direct effects of alcohol. Secondly, just committing to periods where I don't drink at all such as Stoptober. 🛑 Reducing how much I drink can really help me to navigate situations and moments when I'm not feeling my best so would recommend giving this one a try! https://lnkd.in/dfYsW3p
